    Hi,

I have around 4000 categories but I don’t want them all to be shown in the homepage. Is there any way that I can limit that? Let’s say just to have 20-30 shown and then a ‘See all categories’ button where I can find them all and filter them alphabetically?

For GD Categories, you can limit the number of parent categories displayed with the options you will find in the shortcode builder or widget, whichever one you are using.

For example this will show 30 categories and 0 subcategories.

    [gd_categories title_tag="h4" post_type="0" sort_by="count" max_level="0" max_count="4" max_count_child="0"]

    That worked perfect, thanks!

Is it possible to show random categories every time the page refreshes? Or to show the active categories?

    Great!

You can explore all the options with the shortcode builder. Lots of buttons to press.

Random is not an option, though, but you can hide empty categories.
