Location, Near Me, Pinpoints, Form

    Hello,

    I have a couple of questions:

    1. The selected location at the top menu (where it says Change Location) does not reflect in the “Near Field” search box. For example, if I change the city in the “Change Location” to Laguna Beach, the Near Field remains Buena Park which can be a bit confusing for the user. (two photos attached)

    2. There’s a pop up if I select the “Near Me” box. How do we prevent this pop up?

    3. With the new upgrade, the pinpoints are now blurred. Is there any way to have the homepage zoomed out LESS so that the pinpoints are not blurry?

    4. Lastly, I’ve had two new users add a place to the website. They entered the correct address but because they had a suite number and did not select the address in the drop down it caused a problem with their listing where the map did not display their location. When will the form be more flexible so that users can add their correct and full address without having to select the dropdown?

    1. That is not how it should work, we will need your WP admin and URL details to check that out.

    2. I guess you will need a SSL certificate: https://wpgeodirectory.com/adding-a-ssl-certificate-to-your-website/

    3. I suggest you install the Map Marker addon.

    4. Addresses can be added in a number of ways:
    drag the marker and then correct the street address
    use the suggestions when typing your address
    use the drop downs

    Hi Janine,

    you have very old Location manager and Payment manager addons installed. (over 10 months old)

    They still use the old auto updates system so it will be impossible to auto update them now.

    Please download the newest version from here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/members/janineoc/downloads/

    and use this plugin to update them or do it via FTP: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades/

    After that go to Auto Update / licensing and add the licenses for both add-ons. From then on auto updates will work as expected.

    Thanks Paolo. That worked perfectly. Thanks for suggesting the Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrade. That helped so much.

    1. However, the “Change Location” option has disappeared from the menu. Is that part of the upgrade? (pic attached of what I had before I upgraded the Location Manager)

    2. Regarding Guust’s message: “I suggest you install the Map Marker addon.”

    Where is the Map Marker addon?

    3. I went ahead and uploaded the marker cluster. What do all the maps mean? It seems like #14 is the homepage map. (pic attached)

    Hi,

    I added back the location switcher. You just needed to re-enable it. If you would have updated normally this wouldn’t have happened.

    Hi,

    1) a default city must be there or the map will not load when visiting the add listing page. If the address autocompleter is used, the region and city field will change automatically.

    Users should still be able to see that they are adding their address in the wrong city, from both the city field and the map.
