Hi,
I’ve been working on a site that’s intended to be a members only contractor listing and review site. I’m using Paid Memberships Pro with WP User Manager to handle membership levels, sign up/log in and front end profiles. I have all GeoDirectory pages set to member access only. Add Listing is only available to contractors after manual approval as a paid membership. Consumers searching for verified contractors can sign up as free members and have access to the Search and Listings.
I’m using the MoneyFlow theme from MyThemeShop, which is probably one of the worst choices to work with Geodirectory, but it’s perfect for every other aspect of the site. I’ve been wrestling with the theme compatibility settings and opted to just build my own templates. That part worked out great, as I just took a page template from my theme and added the GeoDirectory content and breadcrumbs to it.
I started having a problem at this point with the search not working. Either the button isn’t even clickable, or it just spins until it times out.
The other problem is that I have the page set to be accessible only to members, but it’s view able even when logged out… https://contractorsavvy.com/location/
This plugin seems to be very fickle about it’s intended use, especially in a membership situation. I’m starting to fall behind schedule on this site, so I’m hoping you can help me with these two problems.
Thanks in advance,

Access management is outside the scope of what we can help you with. In the past, members have had pronounced success with S2 members to protect URLs, and less success with PMP; in fact I have yet to hear of any member being able to protect URLs with PMP. We are currently working on a supported integration with ‘Members’ but this is only a beta test for paid roles, not access management per se.
For the theme, we would not recommend making your own templates. We can’t provide you with support for them, and, that said, you shouldn’t need to re-make all the templates. Instead you should be able to focus on working with the styles you are looking to customize.
How about we take a look at the search issue you mentioned. You can create a private reply to share the URL of your site login and WP Admin credentials so we can take a look at your settings. We can take a look at the search page and see what we can see.
December 14, 2017 at 2:14 pm #409543Thanks for the quick reply Alex. The reason I’m using Paid Memberships Pro is that I need to have recurring payments using Stripe and it has that feature out of the box. It’s kind of weird that the pages would ignore the rules from one membership plugin and not another.
I tried the Pricing Manager / Invoices / Stripe add on, but it doesn’t have recurring payments or membership capability.
Is there a chance the issue with PMP not being able to hide the pages will be addressed? I noticed quite a few people trying to uses PMP.
As far as the search, I’ll include login details in private.
Thank You,

I also had a page where I used the short code and the search has the same problem. I added the map to the Location page after the problem started to see if that was affected too. I also disabled member restriction, scripts to footer and other plugins that load on that page.
December 14, 2017 at 4:34 pm #409554I just found this and thought it might solve the problem with PMP. What do you think?

December 15, 2017 at 12:16 am #409614Hello!
The plugin “Scripts to Footer” was causing the issue; I de-activated it.

Let us know if you run into more issues like that
As far as PMP is concerned, I still couldn’t find a way to just enter a URL and say “protect this URL for these roles”. I think that is what you are looking for, or that’s the way it works with S2.
December 15, 2017 at 12:53 am #409615That’s odd, I deactivated Scripts to Footer on that page, moving jquery back to the head, and the problem was still there. Guess I’ll have to play around with it.
I’ll try the suggestion for PMP that I gave you the link to and post back here if I have success with it, so others can find it as well.
Thanks for all the help Alex.
