Make my own Home Page

We have moved to a support ticketing system and our forums are now closed.

    Hello,
    How do you do for make your own home page ? for add my text, my slider, etc
    I use a child theme (of whoop!)
    What files should I modified ?

    Just create a normal WP page, and use that as the home page at WP Settings > Reading.

    You do not need to modify any files. Follow these steps:
    1. WP Admin > pages > add new > create a new page and save.
    2. WP Admin > settings > Reading > Front page displays > A static page (select below) > select the page you created.

    That will use the page.php template, so if you want to edit that, you can copy it to your child theme and customize it there.

    Hi,

    that new page doesn’t have widget areas other than the normal page sidebar.

    You could use shortcodes instead of widgets.

    Otherwise you need to create a page template with new widget areas to compose your home page using widgets.
