Hello everyone,
I’ve been wanting to use a geolocation program for some time to allow users to create steampunk events on my steampunk magazine.
Everything seems to be working ok except the map won’t load on the page. It’s greyed out with the timer rotating or at best i get a shaded map and the timer rotating. It doens’t matter how long I leave them for, it never loads or times out.I’ve followed the installation video and changed settings according to what they say it should be.
I noticed someone mention WP Super Cache, I wonder if that’s a problem? I’ll deactivate it and try that while waiting for a reply with any other suggestions. I use the Titan theme by StepFox.
Nothing ever goes smooth for me, so I kind of expected this, but if anyone has a suggestion or idea, I’ll be more than grateful.
Many thanks in advance and I’ll shower you with compliments after as well.Matt
December 8, 2016 at 10:33 pm #321678You are having some JS errors, see image.
Have a look at the required settings for WP Super Cache: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/useful-plugins/#super-cacheIf you are still stuck after that, please post URL and WP admin details in a private reply and we will check your settings.

the error is caused by script from the theme. The developers are looking into it and we’ll get back to us with a solution asap.
Thank you,

December 10, 2016 at 3:43 pm #322502Thank you ever so much, the map is working great now.
I’ve set a default pin to my home town. I’m now trying to set a new event in a different town. I’ve put in the address but it says it can’t complete the action due to this error: ZERO_RESULTS. It does this for multiple postcodes. If I try to drag the marker by hand it says I have to choose somewhere in Sheffield only.
I’ve changed the default location to London and I get the same thing. I’ve tried to remove the default marker and it won’t let me.Any thoughts?
Matt
December 10, 2016 at 4:05 pm #322504Hi Matt,
The free version only works with one town/city. To use GD with multiple locations you would need the locations manager: https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/location-manager/
or membership (which includes all out addons). You also had a extra space in your google maps api key, i fixed that.
Thanks,
Stiofan
December 10, 2016 at 4:28 pm #322510Ah so I have to upgrade? Ok, brilliant, I’ll get on it. I think it’s worth it for this level of support.
Wonderful, thank you so much 🙂
Matt
December 10, 2016 at 4:56 pm #322512You can start of with say London and if GD works for you then you can upgrade to membership.
Also we have a 30 day money back guarentee so even if you buy membership and are not satisfied we will refund you in full 🙂Thanks,
Stiofan
December 11, 2016 at 3:49 pm #323273Hiya,
I’ve upgraded to the multi location add on and it’s all working perfectly…BUT…
The Home Page of the website now isn’t working and it has the old site icon in the tab from before I went self hosted. In Firefox the page is completely white. In IE Edge, I get a HTTP 500 error. I’ve tried to find the problem but it seems to have started since I installed the Multi Location add on.
It may be just a horrible coincidence, but thought I’d check with you guys since I had a look…Thanks in advance
MattDecember 11, 2016 at 4:18 pm #323295Just as a follow on to the last post:
I’m the same person as who started this thread, but I’m logged in under the account which I bough the add on with 😉I’ve deactivated the add on and the front page now loads, so it is that which is causing the error. I’ll leave it deactivated so people can still access the site until a correction can be determined.
Best regards
