Hello everyone,
I want to build a directory based on: GeoDirectory (+ all add-ons) + UsersWP (+ 3 add-ons) + WooCommerce + WC Marketplace (+ all add-ons) + GeoMarketplace.
This is a very big project for me (I create my own business), with small finances, and I also have to buy all the licenses of the plugins mentioned above (add-ons included), and your starting tips are very important to me, so that I can start working immediately and properly, without risking having to start all over again (bad experiences from the past)
The problem is that it becomes difficult for me to know HOW to configure all plugins, so that they work properly between them. I read the complete documentation of each plugin mentioned above, and I want to say that I know all the features and settings of GeoDirectory.
MAIN QUESTION:
Please, what is the best settings for this:
My GeoDirectory directory allows people to find local farmers and craftsmans.
Every farmer or craftsman can have a free account, or a paid account.I have already started to integrate some places in a classic way with GeoDirectory (free account ready to be claimed).
But I would also like to propose to farmers and craftsmen to have a paying account in order to offer them the features of WC Marketplace, with independent management of their online store. Each farmer or craftsman will be able to customize his shop (banner, information, etc.), and add / edit / delete his own products.
How and which plugin should I manage users and types of users? UsersWP or WC Marketplace?
The strength of WC Marketplace is to offer a frontend admin interface & frontend online store.
The problem is that I would like to use the powerful features of GeoDirectory throughout the website.
I just bought the GeoMarket license, and I’m disappointed to learn that this plugin only offers:a) a menu element (trigger) in frontend that changes depending on the type of user connected.
b) a list of products in the “Products” tab from a listing. Can you help me configure the site in the most optimized way? If you have to pay a professional tell me, but this basic general configuration is too important, I can not miss!
Many thanks to you if you have read me so far.
Sorry for the help of the translator who served me to communicate with you.
I stumble in advance of your precious answers…
This is my most important request so that I start this big project on a good foundation, that’s why I was very precise here. The team, I appreciate your work and regularity for years, thank you again for everything!
I can not wait to continue the adventure of the v2 with you..April 17, 2019 at 11:00 pm #481496UsersWP is for profiles, and especially for making it easy for a user to login and find their ‘stuff’ in one place.
You might the WC addon for UsersWP to show products in the profile.
https://userswp.io/downloads/woocommerce/We can’t really advise on 3rd party plugins, or provide support for them.
You should check out UsersWP and see if it offers what you need to “manage users” – that sounds like something in the backend.
April 19, 2019 at 11:05 am #481749In this case I do not understand why you rather advise the GeoMarketplace plugin to display WC Marketplace products: https://wpgeodirectory.com/geodirectory-woocommerce-wc-marketplace-geomarketplace/
Now you tell me I have to buy the WooCommerce addon for UsersWP… I can not afford to buy all the plugins in the world! We are disturbed and some people like me have a limited financial budget 🙁
If you seriously read my initial message above, I do not ask for technical help regarding third party plugins.
Please, I would simply like to know how to connect all these plugins between them, even before starting to talk about technical problems.
If you do not know how to answer me precisely, maybe it is possible to “buy” TIME with a professional GD developer via Skype for example? I do not want to waste time, but just ask for a few minutes of your time so that I can know in THEORY how to start on a good basis. For the technical problems of each plugin/add-on, I will see later with the developers of third party plugins.
Thank you in advance for your answer.
April 19, 2019 at 12:54 pm #481776If you want to show other ‘features’ like something from another plugin in the GD listing, you can do that with shortcodes. We recommend that most integrations be accomplished with adding shortcodes to the listing display page.
April 25, 2019 at 8:36 pm #482909Ok Alex, I will try that! Thank you for your advices.
May 2, 2019 at 3:16 pm #484183In fact basically here my settings:
I use GeoDirectory for places with physical locations (farmers):
CPT: gd_place
Tax1: gd_placecategory
Tax2: gd_place_tagsI use Woocommerce for products:
CPT: product
Tax1: product_cat
Tax2: product_tagI use UsersWP for customers (users with role “customer“)
I use WC Marketplace for vendors (users with role “vendor“)Regarding what I said previously, marketplaces are becoming more and more successful. I think it is important to be able to integrate in the core of GD the ability to manage the CPT “product” (CPT by default WordPress).
If this is not in your projects, I absolutely must know how to configure (GD + all add-ons + WooCommerce + WC Marketplace + GeoMarketplace). Because I intend to use GD for years, I intend to save all my savings and time in this project.
My question is:
CASE 1: Do I have to create my products and categories with the default WC (product) CPT?
Advantage: Multi-compatibility with the core of WooCommerce, as well as any plugin dedicated to WooCommerce.
Disadvantage: GeoDirectory does not want this CPT, and therefore all the powerful features of GD are unavailable. For example, the add-on “Advanced Search Filter” can not search for products, etc.CASE 2: Or do I have to create my products for sale with the creation of a new CPT managed by GD, for example: “gd_product”?
Advantage: Multi-compatibility with GD core and his add-ons.
Disadvantage: Only recognized and managed by GeoDirectory core, and not recognized by WooCommerce & WC MarketplaceIs there really no solution for these entities to coexist? And I specify in a stable and safe way?
A big thank you to you in advance, it is absolutely necessary that I know this base, so as not to start all over again in the future.
May 2, 2019 at 3:37 pm #484186Important detail, I do not care about the frontend manager and front page offered by WC Marketplace. I just mainly use the core “marketplace” of the plugin.
For all other things, I only want to work with GeoDirectory & WooCommerce. This will also facilitate integration and compatibility between the plugins.
I hope I have been clear this time.
Sincerely,
