Hi,
I’ve just noticed the option
Disable overwrite by Yoast SEO titles & metas on GD pages
Under Titles and Metas (new?) If I select that will it still use the keywords from yoast and any filled in titles and metas?
I’ve done the SEO for my pages and not for each individual listing, as yoast does not seem to support Locations and I would like to have the city/town in the title would this work for what I want?
Does activating that over ride the templates only and not everything else or does it completely over ride yoast and basically not use my keywords, titles and descriptions for my homepage contact page and so on.
Would be nice if it only affected templates so i can use yoast for pages and the geodirectory ones for the listings i have added.
Thank you.
July 14, 2018 at 6:10 pm #438457HI,
it will only overwrite Yoast settings for GD pages. Not for WP pages.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes
Thanks
July 15, 2018 at 12:33 pm #438522Thank you for the reply, I have activated it.
Is it possible to view what it would appear like on a search like we can with yoast?
Thanks.
July 15, 2018 at 12:51 pm #438523Which is the one that changes each individual listings title and meta, also does this remove yoasts keywords from category pages and so forth?
Thanks.

You would need to view the source code of the page and search for the meta tag you want.

This would be the “DETAILS PAGE META SETTINGS”
Yes, if overwrite is selected, then it will overwrite Yoast settings. There can be only one meta title and meta description.
August 14, 2018 at 12:51 pm #442347I’ve activated GD Metas and Titles, it uses the Titles but not the Meta Descriptions.
When I view page source it still shows the Yoast Descriptions, when I do site: to view my indexed pages on a search it shows my Titles and no Description.
All I see in the description is ‘No Records Found. Sorry, no records were found. Please adjust your search criteria and try again.’
Clicking the link loads the page ok and it shows my listings, just that description.
Thanks.
August 14, 2018 at 9:23 pm #442393Hello,
Can you share a URL so we can see the issue?
Are you running a cache plugin on the site?
You can use a private reply to include WP Admin credentials if we need to check the settings.

I opened a detail page and viewed source and didn’t see ‘No Records Found. Sorry, no records were found. Please adjust your search criteria and try again.’
You can also try clearing the GD Booster cache.
If the issue persists, please share a URL and a screenshot so we can see where to look to see the issue.
If it is resolved now, perhaps it was a cache issue. Cache should be cleared when there are major updates to the site.

Place Categories – Edit
We have heard recently that Google will rebuild their meta (titles and descriptions) and override sitemaps when showing results. Sometimes the engines have their own opinion about the description of the page. This may be the case with Moz, but it is hard to say without contacting them.
August 15, 2018 at 5:56 pm #442542Thank you, I can’t see where it says keyword for the categories though. Does it just pull the keywords from the slug and category name?
Your help is much appreciated.
August 15, 2018 at 9:40 pm #442577Hi Amy,
it is using the Met Description set for that CPT in GeoDirectory > Custom Post Type (you need to switch to advanced mode to see it).
Thanks
August 16, 2018 at 9:10 am #442646Ah yes, I read “Categories” but Paolo is right, that is the CPT description being used there.
