Greetings,
As we are wrapping up the development with this plugin, we are having many problems with the multi-location area when adding a listing to the map.
General Issues:
—————————-
1. Why must a user use dropdowns for this area? It makes it very confusing to use a dropdown for a city.
2. I have made the changes in the back-end so the under “region, city, and country” so that a user must type a location.
3. When those changes are made, the “Set Address on Map” option never works. It always throws an error.Example Screen Shots:
—————————–
1. All my listings should be in the United States.
2. In the backend, I changed this so that it shows enable default region. (download (7).png)
3. On the front-end, it now does not force me to select a country which is good.
4. When I enter in my info and go to place it on the map, I get the following error. Screenshot is in this link:

——————————
1. How can this be a normal process. The user adds in the address, city, state and zip.
2. From there the Map finds it as in a regular API.
3. Why do I need to have dropdowns that confuse the user on what to do? Is there a better option to do this or is something set up wrong? This is a major issue.Thank you so much.
July 17, 2014 at 1:16 pm #88274. The USA is a country, not a region. A Region is a State.
You need to enable multi regions, that will let users enter any State in the USA.
Your default address needs to be in USA, Some State, Some city.
I don’t like the droplist for City either, it doesn’t appear to work properly here. Since Multi-City is enabled on my site there is no sense in having a droplist?
July 17, 2014 at 9:56 pm #8904Hi,
I think the confusion comes from the misunderstanding of the Country >> Region >> City
United States in this case is a COUNTRY
Pennsylvania a REGION
Philadelphia a CITYThe only issue is changing the name REGION to STATE and all your problem will be solved.
If your website is only for the United States you should disable multi country and use only the default country. The Country dropdown will disappear.
The set address on map is not working because of the wrong configuration.
ANother misunderstanding seems to be how those select field works.
Both Country, Region and City fields are both a text field and a select field. If you start typing the name of a city that is already in the db it autocompletes it, if there isn’t it allows to write it completely and add it as a new city…
Hope this make sense,
Thx
April 7, 2015 at 8:13 am #36408Hi, Paolo
I’m using Geodirectory+ Multilocation add-on on my website http://www.saloni.com.ua
First of all thank you for your great job. In general I’m happy with your plugins and how they work. But there is onу problem connected with langusge localization. The language of my website is Russian. Of cause I’ve created geodirectory_ru_RU.po file and have translated most of headings and titles. I also use YOAST SEO plugin for titles creation. But while in English you have only one version of city name for example Odessa ( Odeska oblast/ Ukraine) in Russian we have to use several forms : “Одесса” for subjective case , “в Одессе” ( in Odessa) for prepositional. Also adjectives in Russian is not created with adding of …‘s after noon : “Odessa’s” in English and «одесский» in Russian.
In connection with this could you add additional fields for city names for example “city name prepositional” and “city name subjective” to Multilocation/ Add/Edit location ?
There should be also possibility to use them in H1 headings for categories listings and titles. Probably in addition to %location% variable %location_prep% and %location_subj% to be created. Thank you in advance for your comments.April 7, 2015 at 4:38 pm #36434Hi,
we are open to add anything, but only if it is needed by a large member of users.
As of now, nobody ever requested this, however we do have several russian speaking customers.
If this is a must for your language, please Submit a feature request : here.
If enough members vote for it, we will make it our priority.
Thanks
April 9, 2015 at 1:33 pm #36642Hi, I’ve created such request but don’t see it in the list of requests. Will it appear later after moderation?
