    Hello,

I was wondering if it was possible to have another page with the geodirectory map and search funtions that would be separated from the standard page with map/search. The difference being is the template of the page and the categories searched from.

Let’s say the standard map/search-template has some listings in category 1 and the other map/search-template has some listings in category 2. I want the map to have the specific category as default depending on what page you are on.

I know that the category functions already exist, but I don’t want them on the same page as the template needs to be a bit different.

How would I accomplish this? Shortcodes? Template files?

    Regards

Not totally sure what you are asking, but every category has its own page (Listings template):
    http://wptry.it/try-geodirectory/places/
    http://wptry.it/try-geodirectory/places/restaurants/
    http://wptry.it/try-geodirectory/places/attractions/

    More at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-design

You can add widgets to the pages that only show on particular category pages and not others using https://wordpress.org/plugins/widget-logic/ That is the easiest way to customize category pages.
You can also use the category description to differentiate between category pages.

    Thanks for the answer.

    Let me explain better.

I want 2 searchpages with a map, search function and to be able to list listings. The only thing that needs to be separated is the category for each page.

Say you want to have a page for restaurants and another one for hotels. Instead of having them on the same searchpage and the ability to filter out each category with a button, I want them to be on separate searchpages with the category box already ticked depending on what page you’re on.

The category box is only for location/city pages; you should use the GD Listings Map widget for Listings/category pages.

Please clarify with URLs on your siteto show what you mean. I do not think you are talking about search pages, but Listings/category pages. They are auto-created when you add a GD category.

    Hi,

this is not feasible out of the box and would require a customization.

    Thank you
