Near me Page Meta issue & issue in location based pages

I have figure out the main issue in point 2.

We have create 4-5 CPTs. Now in this url we have schools listed in Adilabad. Then pls. suggest how we can stop the urls from creating pages for other CPTs where there is no listing.

It is creating empty pages and thus causing Bad SEO and moreover google is also indexing these empty pages.

While testing the point 3, we came up with another issue of page breaking when we select the region Uttar pradesh (or just on main home page and click on location switcher in main menu) from main menu bar, it also has neighbourhood and thus the box of location switcher goes out of the page. Another Question regarding the Google Voice. Is this theme also support Google Voice. As we wanted our clients can fill the forms through Google voice.

Point 3. Location switcher is working… i might have issue with internet speed… but it is working. thanks

I think you have have mis-undersood the lines i had written.

We have create 6 CPTs (Place, Jobs, events, guest faculty and schools).

Now in this url we have schools listed in Adilabad.

Place: 0 listings
Job: 0 listings
events: 0 listings
Guest faculty: 0 listings
schools: 7-10 listings

As per your suggestion if we remove the location then what will happen for the listing in schools.

I do not see the schools on that page. Is it because there is no widget displaying the schools?

Yes, on the home page we have not made any widget live till yet though you may find the listing in the categories which are displayed on the home page top section.

If the location is in the Location Manager -> Manage Locations then a page will be created.

Well i see this as bug in the code as it will hamper the website ranking in SEO and experience wise also if user somehow come on this page and find nothing. We do not want the empty pages to be created. Can we look at backend code where if CPT doee not have any listing then page should not be created and this is ideal/good case for all of us.

If schools are in Adilabad, then there will be a location page for that Location.

Yes this is correct but location should not create the pages for other CPTs where there is no listing.

Hi Alex,

I don’t know how you all taking it. But We see this as major challenge for the small/big websites. Imagine what will happen if we take our website at global level then how many empty pages will be created God knows. Also in India we work at neighbourhood level- which is in millions (combined whole country).

Just imagine for the urls getting made for the neighborhood for each CPT – BIG ISSUE.

Therefore, you look it as customization and we look this as challenge in core theme.

Thanks for the suggestion.

We had tested the same but the issue is that it is only valid if we have One CPT.
In case of various type of CPT, the description will not be valid in that case and it will create duplicate content within website.

Hope you agree with this.

I don’t know how merging of location will help as we fear that it may not corrupt the entire website.

Hi Alex,

Yes we are only referring to Location description.

Ex. let say we have one location city: Agra.

Now in Agra Location we have one field for description which can be filled for any one type of CPT.

Like: We have CPT for School, Coaching, Job, Guest teacher etc.

Now in this Agra Location meta description field we can only put anyone CPT meta. Also, let say we put in very very generic sentence then google will penalise for use for having similar content for every pages. where only differentiator is CPT type.

We cannot disable Physical location for any cpt as many CPTs will have listings location wise.

Ex. In CPT Coaching, we have agra city where we have listings therefore, i cannot put off/disable the Physical location.
