    Hi

As a followup to a few previous posts, I have three pages that use listings and near me/search buttons.

On my homepage (www.firewood connect.com), I use the popular widget and 20 listings appear (based on a widget setting of 20) with featured listings first followed by the rest in alphabetical order. I can determine how many to display in the widget settings but is it possible to page through to additional listings without clicking the view all link? Is there a better widget to use than the popular widget to display this on the front page such that featured listings are still displayed first?

Using the search widget I can set the number of listings based on the distance. So if I increase the distance the user can scroll down to the limits of the distance set.

Using the near me widget, it appears that the 20 closest listings are displayed (maybe based on the settings in the popular widget?). Is it possible to set the distance for the near me widget similar to the search widget?

    thanks
    Victor

Try adding this shortcode in a widget on the GD Home pages:

    [gd_listings layout='4' list_sort='featured' post_number='12']

    Adjust as required, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-shortcodes/#listings

The Near Me button takes you to a GD Home/Location page, using the same template and widgets of your location pages.
See here how to adjust the radius searched: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-do-i-change-the-distance-searched-for-the-near-me-button-widget/

    Thanks

Thanks, Guust. This appears to work.

    A few questions

    – the near me distance is displayed on the first page after clicking the near me button but the distance is not displayed on subsequent pages even though the posts appear to be sorted by distance. This is not a big thing but I was wondering if this is the only way this can work.

Also, is it possible to mix post types using the short code that you listed or is it possible to only list and search one post type at a time.
    Thanks
    Victor

The NEAR ME button will ask the visitor if they agree to be geolocated. Depending on the browser they can says “Yes” or “Yes, and remember”.
The Near Me button takes you to a GD Home/Location page, which is not paginated.
To get any other pages with distances displayed, the user has to ask the system to return listings near them, and that can only be done on search pages, or the /location/me page.

It is possible to only list and search one post type at a time. But you can add widgets for different CPTs on the same page: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/widgets/#popular-post

    See also https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/
    Thanks

    Thanks, Guust.

Regarding the near me question, I added the shortcode as you suggested to the homepage. This allows a listing with pagination of all the posts for a post type.

It also allows a near me search to be paginated. The interesting thing is that the first page lists the distances but the subsequent pages do not.

I have used this at firewoodconnect.com.

This is not a big deal but if it could list the distances on the subsequent pages it would be better.

I will check out the links regarding the widgets for different post types.

    Thanks
    Victor
