Hi,
Is there a way we can create category + near me page and displaying all listing for that category which is near me? This will help in ranking us good in SEO, let me give you an example –
Attractions near me
Street food near me
All these pages will have listing of that category with the location filtered.
Thanks
January 21, 2020 at 4:48 pm #526717Hello,
that is not possible, no. You can create those pages but they will not show the near-me results.
Only the location/near/me and search results pages show near-me results in that way.
January 24, 2020 at 8:36 pm #527320Hi,
Please suggest –
Can I create a page like Attraction near me and the listing on that I am showing with sort by distance?
January 24, 2020 at 8:55 pm #527327Maybe what you should do it add a GD Listings element/shortcode to the location page, and set it for “Attractions” and make sure to enable the location filter in the advanced options.
Then add the near me button to the sidebar.
Try that, then click on the near me button, that should be similar to what you want.

I did this below is the link, chaat wala page is basically street food in hindi.. there is no way to sort this listing by location?
https://foodonstreets.com/chaat-wala-near-me/
Thanks!
January 27, 2020 at 8:26 pm #527569If it were to be sorted by distance from a particular place, like a city, that is on the search page.
If it is from the user’s location (which could also be a place, in theory, from a map point), then that would be the location/near/me page.
If it were on a details page, and you were showing nearby listings, you could see these instructions: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/design/gd-listings/#nearby
Otherwise there is no other feature for sorting by distance.
How would you help the user decide the distance? Distance from what?
January 28, 2020 at 3:53 am #527645Distance from the user’s current location only.
So any page becomes the near me page if that sort is applied.
As of now if its a category page also it doesn’t have a sort by distance (distance from the current location) functionality which as a use case a user will be interested in. for example – I land from near me page to category page or post type listing page but then it is showing as per the sort option i have selected, but user journey was from near me page which means user want to see more of that category/ post type listing near him/ her.
Is there a way out to solve this?
Yes I know that functionality of showing the distance from that particular post or city on the detail page.
Thanks!
January 28, 2020 at 2:45 pm #527726Unfortunately GeoDirectory does not have a feature that has every page filtered by the user’s location. That is only possible on the search and location page. Those are the only two pages that set the user’s location as THE location.
January 29, 2020 at 7:22 am #527808Okay.. Can I create multiple search pages? also you can suggest better can i create a location like this Chaat wala near me (with any of the country, state and city) and use this user location filter
thanks
January 29, 2020 at 9:11 am #527823There is only one search page.
You can see an example of how to use GD Map and GD Listings with a slug filter here, as Kor pointed out: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/design/maps/#location
