How can I accomodate businesses which do not have a fixed store location?
They may be available to everyone within the country or region.

    Hi Ashley,

Thanks for your post. You can create a new CPT and uncheck the physical location option as explained here https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/places/general/#settings .

    Thank you!

If somebody were to cover a certain region/city, is there a way for their listing to appear within the search results if the users search matches that region/city?

My problem with the CPT solution is that search requests aren’t shared across CPT’s, the end user has to select a CPT from the search dropdown. I would want the user’s search to bring results in from all CPTs.

This is the search query I am trying to achieve, numbered by the sorting order:

    Search Result:
    1. geolocated results
    2. partially matched location results (just city/region)
    3. results with no location set

Just wondering if we can make the address field optional instead of required would be a step in the right direction?

The search is only through one CPT at a time and doesn’t work the way you have outlined.

Address fields are required. You can choose to include the online businesses in the same CPT, then give them an option to hide their address on the listings, which requires that you make some effort to set up dynamic visibility for the address.

To do that you would use GD Dynamic Content to display the address or map, as needed, based on a field value. Examples are here:

Thank you Alex I will look into GD Dynamic Contents to see if it’ll meet my needs.
