Notification for Recurring Payment

    Hello,

    How do Notifications works for listings with a recurring payment plan? Do they receive any notification adn if so what is the message?

    Notifications can be found using the following path. Geodirectory > Prices and Payments > Notificiations

    thanks, but my question is specific to the notification for clients set up for recurring payments using paypal. I don’t see a notification here that tells those clients they are on auto-renew and that their payment is going to be processed on a certain date or whatever. Or do these clients not get any notification? Or do they only get one after the payment is processed?

    Oh! They get a notification from Paypal about the recurring payment that is setup. Emails go out after payment is processed as well.

    I see. I actually think that a payment notification is sent out from Geodirectory as well. So clients will receive two emails. Someone from admin can confirm though.

    Hi,

    GeoDirectory sends up to 3 emails for Pre Expiry Notifications To Clients.

    However I believe it doesn’t send them for recurring payments and neither should Paypal.

    I asked to the developers to confirm though.

    Hi Joy,

    Are you using Payment Manager + Invoicing addons or only Payment Manager addon?

    If you are using Payment Manager + Invoicing, on every recurring payment received it sends notification to user with subject like “Your invoice from October 11, 2017 has been paid”.
    Please check attachment, this email received after recurring payment received.

    I’m using both so I do see that payment notifications are sent from the website as well as from PayPal.

    I still am not clear on what if anything gets sent IN ADVANCE to my clients from my website if they are on a recurring plan. And separately, do they also get something from PayPal? It has been difficult to follow this tread. Perhaps this could be included in the documentation for Prices and Payments. Thanks!

    @williamslyd: Nothing gets sent in advance to your clients from your website or Paypal if they are on a recurring plan with PayPal. PayPal will send them an email when the payment is taken (but not in advance) and your website sends notification to user with subject like “Your invoice from October 11, 2017 has been paid” when PayPal sends the money to you.
