Hi Guust,
this looks so perfect 🙂
Is this implemented on my site now? Just wundering, because when I enter my site, it still looks as before. Many thanks for all this support
BirgitMarch 31, 2019 at 10:47 pm #477274That is a screenshot from the URL I posted at https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/number-of-listings-on-search-page/page/2/#post-477225.
If you see something else, make sure to clear all your caches.
ThanksApril 1, 2019 at 3:20 pm #477348Hi Guust,
this is so weird, and I am really sorry for bothering you guys all the time …I have cleared all caches in the browser, I do not run any cache-plugins and I do not have a Host-managed site.
And still… Only when I manually type the name of the category into the address field of the browser, it is fine and I can see your changes – and they look just as I want them. (see screenshot one)
But as soon as I navigate to that archive page by choosing the category in the search bar and klicking the search button, no changes can be seen and there is this really long address in the address field of the browser (see screenshot 2).
Why is it like this despite all the cache-clearing?
How can I make sure that users do not need to type category names in the browser address field in order to see those functionalities?Sorry and
many thanks, Guust and Alex, for all your help.April 1, 2019 at 3:26 pm #477351Good to know. Many thanks 🙂
April 1, 2019 at 10:21 pm #477388I cannot replicate that on my test site. I’ll get Kiran to have another look as to why https://planmy.wedding/search/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_hochzeitslocation&s=+&snear=&spersonenzahl=&sgeo_lat=&sgeo_lon= does not show all listings on the map.
April 2, 2019 at 7:20 am #477411Hello Birgit,
Map widget shows all markers on map for one of following conditions:
– If current page post type archive page
– If current page category archive page
– If current page is search page and category searched(spost_category)Let us know.

April 3, 2019 at 10:37 am #477805Hello Kiran,
sorry, I do not understand your message, maybe because I am not a developer 🙁Post types and categories in my system are always the same. Every post type has only one category, named exactly like the respective post type.
Just now I oppened my website from a different computer and the matter is still the same.
When a user chooses a category/post type and klicks the search button he comes to the archive page where
– the map still does not show all listings but only the ones listed on the lefthand side.
– no sorting options are displaid to the user.Map with all listings and sorting options are only displaid if the user types the name of the CPT/category into the address field of the browser – which no user will ever do.
So what can I do to achieve it that the user sees all listings on the map as well as the sorting options?
Many thanks
BirgitApril 3, 2019 at 11:51 am #477842Use the Archive pages to display all listings in a CPT as that is what they are designed for. You can also add a map to a custom page to ‘show all’.
April 3, 2019 at 12:25 pm #477858Map widget shows all markers on map for one of following conditions:
– If current page post type archive page, showing all listings in a CPT: https://planmy.wedding/hochzeitslocations/
– If current page category archive page, showing all listings in a category: https://planmy.wedding/hochzeitslocations/category/hochzeitslocation/
– If current page is search page and category searched(spost_category), showing search results if a category is searched too: https://planmy.wedding/search/page/3/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_musik_entertain&s=+&snear&sgeo_lat&sgeo_lon&spost_category%5B0%5D=245
Sorting options never show on search pages, only category and CPT pages.
You can add the “GD > Categories” widget or shortcodes, for example see https://planmy.wedding/aaa/Thanks
April 7, 2019 at 4:10 pm #479043Hello,
I am trying to understand what you mean …
When a user on the front page in the main search bar chooses a category and klicks the search button, this will take him to the search page where all the search results are shown. Right? And as a user at this stage, I would expect to be able to find some sorting options in order to sort my search results. However, from your message I understand that on the search page for some reason sorting options are generally never displaid at all. Right?
In order to have sorting options, the user must choose a category from a widget or some navigation in the main menue – but NOT via the main search bar. Is that correct?
If this is correct, this doesn’t really seem logic to me.
Anyway, I will see what I can do with the shortcodes.
Thank you guys so far for your patience.
Best regards

Yes, for that category.
And as a user at this stage, I would expect to be able to find some sorting options in order to sort my search results. However, from your message I understand that on the search page for some reason sorting options are generally never displaid at all. Right?

The principle is that when you SEARCH for something, you expect the result to show what you searched for, just like that. There is no need to sort, because the results are ordered by relevance to your search. For example, if you search for “mouse”, the results will show you listings first with mouse in the title, then listings with mouse in the description but not the title etc.
If you just search for anything in a category without choosing to narrow down your search, why would you expect anything else? If you wanted something else, you would have searched for it.But if you just want to see all listings in a category, then it makes sense you go to the category page, not the search results page. And there you can sort.
Although this is for V1, the same principle applies for V2: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/searching-and-browsing/
Thanks
April 25, 2019 at 9:51 am #482771Hello there,
after our latest posts regarding this everything was fine:
On the lefthand side GD Archive page displayd only a certain number of listings with pagination. On the right the map displaid ALL listings of this CPT.
For some reason now the map – again – only shows the listings which are displaid on the left, not more. What can I do to make the map display ALL listings of a CPT (without loosing pagination on the lefthand side)?
Best regards
BirgitApril 25, 2019 at 10:36 am #482789I guess you updated Supreme and lost the modifications.
You have to make sure you keep the modifications to
…/wp-content/themes/supreme-directory/content-geodirectory-archive.php as described at https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/number-of-listings-on-search-page/#post-476656Thanks
