Thanks Alex, that fixed all those issues!
May 9, 2018 at 8:20 pm #429793That’s great, thanks Alex!
As I’m customizing my Places posts, I’m not seeing where I can turn off the options for comments, favourites and reviews. I was looking on Place Settings > Custom fields and > Sorting options but they’re not in Custom fields and I can’t seem to delete the things that are in the sorting options. What am I missing?
May 9, 2018 at 9:32 pm #429806Maybe these options? –
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-design/#detailIf you want to disable options on the Detail page, check those options.
If you are looking in custom fields, it is possible to ‘hide’ fields by adjusting the option for each field called “show in what places” – it is possible to ‘hide’ a field by removing all the places it is displayed.
Sorting options is for adjusting how listings are sorted on a “Listing” page, which is like: /places
May 10, 2018 at 1:40 pm #429916Got it. Thanks Alex! I’ve got a new/different question which I’m not sure if it’s a Geodirectory question or a WP question…
I’m using GeoDirectory in a parent page of an existing theme, WPOceans. The margins I have set up for the sides of the page don’t seem to be in effect on the directory pages. I’m having trouble seeing where I can fix that. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your reply. Kindly insert the custom CSS code into GD > Design > Scripts > Custom Style CSS to apply margins on the pages.
div#geodir-wrapper { margin:20px!important; }

May 11, 2018 at 12:59 pm #430081I’m wondering if I can pass this next question back to Alex, for continuity.
Because I set up my directory as a page within a larger site, the child pages aren’t showing up in my menu as I see them in the examples where GeoDirectory is installed with its own theme as a home page.
This is an issue for create a listing. I want members of the organization the website is designed for to come to the site and set up their own listing. I’ve created a button for that on the directory main page (still unlinked) and would love to have a button or something in the right sidebar of the other pages for people to register their practices. Am I missing something? Did I unselect something I shouldn’t have?
Thanks! If I’ve gone too far off the first question and should start a new thread, just let me know 🙂
May 11, 2018 at 1:38 pm #430087Also, if I go to mysite/gd-login, it takes me to the home page of my site, not the directory page (the main GD page) or a form for a listing. (I’m trying to create a listing as a new user from the front end and can’t.)
May 11, 2018 at 2:03 pm #430093I’m sorry, to go back to Kor’s bit of CSS: I was looking to bump in the margins on the body, not in the top of the page content (what I consider the header).
So if the map and search bar on the landing page of the directory are considered part of the body, how can I bring back the header that was in my template? (It was integrated into the rest of the page content when I made my directory page the GD home page – so I deleted it)
Thanks!
May 11, 2018 at 2:49 pm #430112The options for inserting the menu links for adding a listing are not enabled at:
Geodirectory – Design – Navigation
It is not required to use those, though, it is also possible to just add a custom menu link pointing to:
mysite.com/add-listing/?listing_type=gd_place
If the user is not logged in, they will have the option to register.
I noticed that the add-listing pages was showing as blank. I turned on the default template for the page (disabling the elementor layout) and it seems to be working now. Check it out and let us know.
Generally speaking builders can’t be used on GD template pages like add-listing and gd-home. In some rare cases a conflict can cause the page not to render, which seems to have been the case there, but usually any builder content is just overriden by the GD template.
Geodirectory doesn’t have advanced options for redirection, but if you want them, you can take a look at our UsersWP plugin that includes those as well as advanced profiles for listing management.
WordPress default behavior will return a user to the last page they were looking at when they are redirected to login (gd-login).
I don’t quite understand what you meant about the directory being a site within a site. Are there two sites? Your WP Front page is set to ‘home’ and the GD Home is set to ‘directory’, so, the button in the header or menu should point people to ‘directory’.
I checked a couple of the non-GD pages from the menu and they did appear. Is that what you meant by child pages? Which page is not showing up?

div#geodir-wrapper { margin-top: 80px !important; }
