Hi, is it possible to have paid for listings to show at the top of ‘in’ searches?
I’ve seen featured but we have 3 packages, one is free and then 2 others. As it is at the moment it appears that even if the listing is paid for it randomly places it with the free listings.
As you can guess this is causing us issues as any level of paid for should appear above free listings when searching ‘in’ a location.
We don’t want to have all set to featured due to us wanting to offer that as a separate thing all together.
Hopefully we can do this otherwise it will impact our ability to sell listings if they get the same coverage as free.
Thanks.

If you want to feature listings, you can use the GD Listings element to show a group of listings on the search page. With V1 you can do that with a widget, or in V2 you can edit the search page template.
There are several strategies for the ‘value’ offering for listing owners.
Featured – More exposure if the listing is shown in more GD Listings widgets on the archive and search and location pages.
Category count – More exposure because the listing is shown on more pages. Here is a short intro to using Featured listings in V2

January 30, 2019 at 6:51 pm #466247Thanks for the reply, what I mean is we we want to be able to have paid for listings show at the top on location pages.
Not on search pages as I understand they are ‘near.
When your talking about ‘archieve’ I think that’s what I mean.
How do I get paid for listings to be seen at the top of those without using the featured option.
Like give a paid listing better exposure compared to free ones without the featured option (we want that seperate.)
From what I understand your saying what we want is not possible on Geodirectory?
Thanks.

Thanks.
January 30, 2019 at 9:18 pm #466272The V1 doc is here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#sorting
We do not yet have a V2 Supreme demo. Not much has changed except that theer are more options for how the various GD pages can display listings.
January 30, 2019 at 9:26 pm #466278Thanks for the link, will have a look later.
Have you any idea how much longer V1 will be getting updates as I assume you will be slowly removing it?
Thanks.
