Hi guys,
I’ve looked around and many questions of the same topic were a few years ago so not sure if things have changed.
Anyway, How do I get portrait orientated photos to show in the details page correctly? Its usually got the top and bottom clipped off as the slider only seems to show landscape orientation. Is there a way for both types of orientations to show within the window or does GD only allow landscape orientation?
September 25, 2019 at 12:02 pm #510158Please use the GD Post Images advanced options to choose the Cover Width option. Let us know how it goes
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/integrations/images/
GDV1 used “contain” meaning it did not clip either X or Y. The default for V2 is cover ‘both’ so there can be clipping on either side to make sure the entire area is filled.

I’ve read what you sent through but how do I find the GD post images element?
I can’t see it on the details page but I do see the short code for the slideshow that is being displayed. I’d like to use the gallery instead.
September 25, 2019 at 10:59 pm #510292Ok I found it but it looks nothing like the instructions you sent and my portrait orientated images are still clipped but I now know how to choose single image, gallery or slider.
I have attached a screen pic.
Just to reiiterate. I would like my portrait orientated images to fit in the window whether it be slider, single image, or gallery.
Thank you in advance
September 25, 2019 at 11:02 pm #510294Sorry I forgot to mention so nothing has changed on the front end and the picture I sent is what I see using GD Post Images Element in the back end of my details page. I dont get cover type options or image size options in my advanced drop down. All I get is additional CSS.
September 26, 2019 at 10:03 am #510329Hi fashioncollaborate,
Thanks for your reply. You can refer to this section of the documentation that explains how to edit the details listings page https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/templates/details/ . Alex is referring to the “gd_post_images” shortcode.
September 26, 2019 at 9:58 pm #510464Thank you! That worked perfectly.
Just one more question. I have the following codes on my GD Archive Page.
[gd_notifications]
[gd_category_description]
[gd_search]
[gd_loop_actions]
[gd_loop layout=2]
[gd_loop_paging]Which one of these is the one that displays the picture? Id, like to change the cover type to “contain” also so if the picture shown, is a portrait orientation it will fit.
Thank you so much. I love my website
September 27, 2019 at 12:10 am #510478Change that in the GD Archive item template. GD Listings and GD Loop (seen above) display the ‘mini listings’ which uses the Archive item template.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/templates/archive-item/
Inside the Archive item template, make a new GD Post Images shortcode to replace the one you find in the template.
Please always make a new topic instead of adding new questions to resolved topics
Thank you

This is resolved.
