Hi,
Apologies if you’ve answered these questions a hundred times already — I’ve been searching in the forum for hours with no luck.
1) Can you please help me change the “Places” default on Add Listing? I’d like it to read “Businesses”. I also intend to install the Events addon eventually so will need to know how to add an “Events” option there too please.
2) I installed MultiRatings but it doesn’t seem to be working. http://www.frexper.com/
3) Can you please help me make the necessary changes to make all postings anonymous?
Thank you,
May 10, 2016 at 3:37 am #187674Hi Michele,
Thanks for reaching us. I’ll try to answer your questions accordingly.
1. Place is the default CPT and cannot be removed. So, if you don’t need it just don’t use it and it will not appear anywhere. Also, you can rename everything about it like name and slug, but you can’t change the Custom Post Type prefix (gd_place). Also, you need to use the Custom Post Type Addon and go through this section of the doc https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/places-categories-and-listings/#advantages
2. Do you think you can share temp admin access to your site so we can take a better look? You can post the details here using the private reply option below.
3. Sorry, I’m not getting this. Could you tell us a little bit more about what you’re trying to achieve?
Thanks!

The only way I see to make review anonymous is to remove the avatar and name. You can do that with:
#reviewsTab .comments-area .comment-author, .whoop-event-comment .comments-area .comment-author { display: none; }
Just add it to GeoDirectory >> Design >> Scripts >> Custom CSS.
Thanks
May 11, 2016 at 12:34 am #188086ok thank you so much. I’ll check that.
My site appears to be very buggy — I deleted a listing on all the back end but it still appears on the front end (as a duplicate). Also, when I click on El Huerto restaurant to try to add a review, it takes me to Hacienda Pinilla, golf course. Would you mind checking into this for me? I’d so much appreciate it. http://www.frexper.com
Also, is there really no way to disengage the “Places” tab? It’s empty and really in the way.
Thank you,
MicheleMay 11, 2016 at 11:40 am #188424I’ve followed the link above and filled out this page. I get the error message as indicated in the screen shot. I don’t understand… I don’t see a place to select this as requested/required.
Also, it prompts me for an image, but I don’t see the star image available in my media. How do I deal with this? Is there a star file I need to download?
Thanks
May 11, 2016 at 12:14 pm #188429The error message disappeared, thankfully, so that works now. But I still have 2 outstanding issues.
1) where do I get the star image? I can’t add a Rating Style (Rating Styles tab) without an error message prompting me for an image, screenshot attached.
2) there are some rather significant navigational bugs on the site it appears. a) I can’t access any of my individual listings to either add reviews or even read the listing. b) Under “food” everything is coming up, including the massage therapist. c) When I do an area search, ALL of the pages come up, including back-end pages (see screenshot). d) All listings have green stars on them, even though I’ve deleted the green star options across the board. help!
thanks
May 11, 2016 at 4:59 pm #188642Hi,
please follow the documentation: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/
Your had default permalinks instead of postname.
1 of the 2 listings in the food CPT has no categories.
For the no rating image please use this: http://wordpressmu-3822-8567-17899.cloudwaysapps.com/wordpress-directory-theme-whoop/wp-content/themes/whoop/library/images/whoop-star.png
Download it and upload it back. It comes by default, but i guess you removed it.Let us know how you went,
Thanks
p.s. You should use icons for the CPT menu, not images…
May 11, 2016 at 10:55 pm #189004Thank you so much. It seems to be working okay now and I was able to set the posts to anonymous with that code. Thanks.
A question on Claim Listings: I want to charge all vendors to claim their listing. To be sure I do this, I need to be sure that I receive an email (as admin) every time someone enters a new listing and checks “yes” on the business owner field as well as every time someone claims a listing previously entered by someone else. Is this possible? (I just entered a couple of new listings and checked myself as business owner but nothing different happened.)
Thanks
MicheleMay 12, 2016 at 4:10 pm #189540Hi,
no the system doesn’t send a differnt email to the admin when someone checks that option while adding a listing.
You will receive an email everytime someone claim an existing listing though.
Please avoid going off topic and open a new topic in the right forum when you have a question about another add-on.
Thank you,
