I do not know how to clean in in the “database” so that is a no go…
I will have to work harder… how do I merge the locations?
Since I see this is a gigantic mess in location it is also a mess in SEO as well. How do I correct the SEO area?November 18, 2015 at 5:22 pm #60756Hi,
you can see instructions here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-do-i-merge-locations/
You will need to create the correct location for each wrong location in order to merge it.
So if you have :
United States – CA – Los Angeles
You must create 1st:
United States – California – Los Angeles
Than merge them.
If you wish to try and do this directly in your database, you could try using a tool like this:
https://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/
In that case you would install the tool, search for CA in all tables and replace it with California.
I believe it will take you less time.
Once you managed to clean up the location, we can worry about the seo settings.
Let us know how you went.
Thanks

November 22, 2015 at 9:49 pm #61167This search and replace is beyond my understanding currently. I am going to wipe the entires manually all 6k of them. What a waste of time…
Since this is only the first major import of CPT and no one has claimed them it is faster to delete / trash all 6000, correct the Regions field and upload again.
Valuable lesson learned. One I hope I do not have to repeat.
I did reach out the the developers of the Search and Replace to obtain an estimate.
Time is the problem.. I cannot wait two days to get some kind of an answer from them and then two days later decide if I can afford it. I can just delete and start over within a couple of hours.
Kind regards and thank you for your support.
SEO is taken care of.. Wordfence was the culprit.
November 22, 2015 at 10:04 pm #61171SEO.. I was thinking about why my home page would not be indexed by google. I did not mean SEO is taken care of… after I delete the CPT listings for Bars I will view the SEO area and see it I ahve to manually delete the State / Regions abbreviations manually also. Kind regards,
November 26, 2015 at 1:45 am #61535Hello again. So I deleted the entire CPT post and started from scratch. I can get the GD to acknowledge the data but it still will not import. I have gone through each column.
I believe it may be a “date” format issue. Is this possible? What day, month, year format are we suppose to use or does it even make a difference?
for example.. should it be Year/Month/Day? or Year-Month-Day or Day/Month/Year or Day-Month-Year. going on week five now.. this import issue is startling.
I have been saving the file / filter as Western Euro latin. I am going to try the utf8 and see if that gets it done. Comma delimit3ed.
November 26, 2015 at 2:13 am #61536Ok.. I may have found the problem. In the CPT settings for Night Clubs the “column” geodir_video” is only in the CPT settings once!
When I export a Night Club .csv the “geodir_video” has “two” columns. Is this a glitch?
November 26, 2015 at 4:54 pm #61578Hi,
I’d need to install the plugin database browser to have a look at your db tables.
Could you please install it or give us credentials of a super admin so we can proceed?
Let us know,
Thanks
