    Hi
    I was wondering if you could help with a couple of issues;

    Site : Pokernearme.com.au

    1. I have both events (Poker games) and places (Casinos) set up for my site. I want to remove the search bar option from the slider for Poker Games and Casinos. How do I do that?

    2. I would like to set up an Event custom field (Venue) on the search bar. I selected Venue in Events / Settings / Search. The Venue appears on the search bar as a “cog” however I would like it to appear in the search bar. There is no “show in main search bar” for the custom field (Venue). Is there an option to have a custom field in the main search bar or is the “cog” the only option?

    Thanks
    Julian

    Hi Julian,

    Thanks for your post. Please allow me to answer your questions accordingly.

    1. I can seem to find a slider on this page https://pokernearme.com.au/ and there is only one search form on the top of the page. Do you mean to remove that one?

    2. Search custom fields cannot be inserted into the search form, but instead, you can set it to “Always Open” so that it displays the option without clicking on the ‘cog” button.

    I am using Geodirectory v2 Supreme Theme.

    1. Please see attached picture with the search option highlighted which I want to remove from the search bar.

    2. I am using Geodirectory v2. Is there an “always open” option in GD v2? I couldn’t find it on the search widget.

    You can hide the CPT selector with CSS but it will always then search the default post type, the one with the lowest number on the Post Types tab
    GD – Settings – Post Types
    See this for example CSS: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/faq/common-examples/#gd_search

    There is an always open option, but the search bar on archive page or in the Supreme full width header is built into the template, so editing the template is required and considered customization.
