We had asked previously about what type of control a business owner would have over any reviews that were posted and the answer was basically “Listing owners have no control over the reviews at all.” Wondering if that reply was specific to the “MultiRatings and Reviews” Add-on? We’re confused because the core function seems to allow for users and listing owners to post, update and moderate all review content (showing in the “Reviews” tab) by default, just by having the WP commenting functionality active.

It would seem as thought the premium ratings and reviews module would only enhance those options, not restrict them. Just concerned about allowing any review process where users can (truthfully or not) say anything inappropriate without the listing owner (or admin) having any control. We set up a few non-admin accounts and test listings and seemed to be able to edit with no issues. Are restrictions related to whether listing is “claimed” or not? Can you give us some additional details about what is allowed and how reviews would work?

    Hi,

if the business owner claimed the listing as a subscriber and you don’t change its role, there is no way for him to edit the reviews.

If you leave an option to business ownser to moderate the reviews of their own listings, negative reviews or comments would never get published.

Only if you change the business owner role to author or above they’ll be able to edit reviews of their listings from the back end and that looks like a bug as well, because they can do it even if the wp-admin is restricted.

I’ll ask to the developers to verify.

Please avoid opening topics with title like “reviews” (as you can see there are already 7 with that title and that doesn’t help us with keeping our forum efficient). Please always briefly describe your problem in the title.

    Thanks

Editor/Authors can access some parts of the backend even if setting set to not allow – FIXED

This will be in the next release (hopefully today)

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
