Search by country not working

I am having problems with search. I have read the chain related to support post #408219 but am still having issues.

I have a site with roughly 200 listings of therapists in over 50 countries. Sometimes a visitor will be looking for a listing in another country so Near Me is not relevant. Also some countries only have a few listings so geolocation is not helpful.

1. When I try to search by country, e.g Germany, I get results for the United States. This is even though I have listings in Germany.
2. When I click on the Germany link from my list of locations, I get a search bar and I have to click the Search icon to get the listings.

I want the visitor to be able to EITHER type in a) “Germany” or b) select Germany from the list of location, and have the site display all of the listings in Germany (without the extra step of first having to click on another search bar.

I could be that the best solution is to disable geolocation all together but I cannot find specific steps on how to do that.
