Search Filters and Sorting

    Hi,

    I have a few questions about the Geodirectory Plugin and it’s capabilities in regards to filters and sorting:

    1. Is there a way of adding categories and tags as filters to the search results?

    2. Can we add sort options for distance and A-Z on the search results and the home page? I added a sorting option, but only appears on the places page which shows all places. I would like to be able to add this sorting option to the Home Page and Search Results if possible.

    3. I have listings located all around Australia, however I would like to set up the map so it is zoomed into Queensland (A State) when first opened, rather than showing the whole of Australia? Is this possible (I have the GeoLocations addon if this helps)?

    Hi Isabella,

    1) You can add categories as an advanced search filter, but not tags. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/ Both categories and tags are searched against any keyword input in the “search for” field.

    2) Home are widgets and can be sorted by users. They only show a fix number of listings that the admin can sort by default. Search results I’m sorry, but cannot be sorted.

    3) By default you can show on 1st load

    a) the everywhere location (map adapts to your listings and it shows them all)
    b) the default location (a city, not a region or a country)
    c) geolocate the user
