Search problems after updates today

    Hello

    1) Our search has been altered by the latest updates. The is now blocked on the local area when you click on the popular categories links despite having the same fixed distances as before the update. Full details below in private post

    2)Also, how can we delete the town and region names we don’t want from appearing automatically on the autofiller once they’ve been merged and deleted from our location lists? I cleared my cache and tried another computer but they are still showing.

    That is an intended change to make sure all links and widgets on that page are relevant to the location, see the changelog at https://wpgeodirectory.com/change-logs/#v1.6.11

    On detail page current location parameters should be added to the term links

    Hi Guust

    Ha, I spent hours trying to find the solution. lol
    I don’t really understand what I’m supposed to do ” on detail page current location parameters….

    I can see it’s a good improvement for those with lots of listings but the flexibility of showing all when a directory is starting out was really useful. Isn’t it possible to bring these elements back by expanding the kilometres search distance? This is important to us because our directory is based on entire stretches of waterways and not just the towns and villages along them. So everything that falls within 200 km etc is useful.

    Do the changes mean we can no longer use the popular categories in the same way as before for this purpose?

    So basically, how can I get around the latest improvement 🙂
    I’d appreciate more details

    The Popular Categories widget is not really meant for Detail pages, but for Home/location and Listings/category pages.
    It is only the detail page that has changed, it needed to be done to fix some other bugs on the detail page.

    Thanks for that. The improvements are really good so I’ll just have to find a way to work around my issues. The breadcrumbs seem to partly resolve the issue for us.
