    Hi,

I translated the strings SEND_TO_FRIEND and SEND_TO_FRIEND_SAMPLE_CONTENT with WPML string translation and they still show up in English on the site. I also checked the .po/.mo translation files because I sometimes don’t know which one takes precedence and it’s translated there as well.

I don’t know how to make it work. Can you please help? By the way, I think this was working on an earlier release of GD.

    Thanks,
    Marc

    Hi Kiran,

So there was a browser caching issue. You are right, it shows correctly on a new session.

Then I tried to open an incognito browser, opened the French version, went to the English version and reloaded the French version and those 2 terms showed up in English again. The same happened with the “Send Inquiry” title and email content draft. I thought it could have something to do with GD-Booser, so I turned it off and couldn’t reproduce the issue. Now I turned it back on and I can’t reproduce it either…. Weird!

It’s probably not worth investigating further, unless you have an idea of how that could happen with GD-Booster.

    Thanks for your help.

    Best,
    Marc

    Hi Marc,

Can you provide video capture so we can check & re-create problem from our side?

On a separate note, I still haven’t figured why I can sometimes translate a term with WPML string translation and it works and sometimes I do it there and it has no effect. So I have to go edit the .po/.mo language file, save it there and upload it to make the translation appear on the site.

I would love to have string translation from WPML be the place where I can do all my translations. Like load the default language files and then if a string needs a different translation, I’d like to be able to overwrite it with WPML instead of having to go and modify the language file.

We’re about to translate the interface of our site in German and I’d rather have the translator work only with one method (WPML) rather than language files. How can I achieve this?

    Thanks,
    Marc

As I said, I can’t reproduce the problem anymore since I restarted GD-Booster. It’s probably not worth investigating further, unless you have an idea of how that could happen with GD-Booster.

Could you please still answer my previous message about translation?

    Thanks,
    Marc

    Hi Marc,

As translation from .mo files are loaded as a backup, so if string not translated using string translation it will load translation from .mo file.

It is not necessary to have string translated via .mo files if you are using string translation as a priority. If all the the strings are translated via string translation then no need to add translation in .mo file.

Can you list the strings that you facing problem via string translation?

    Let us know.

    Thanks,
    Kiran
