Hi Guust, I am not seeing the same menu, all I am getting is ‘Share Location’ or ‘Not Now’ when in Firefox. I have tried Chrome and I am still getting problems.
I am getting lost in what things like ‘switch location’, ‘share location’ do. They seem superfluous to my requirement (I think).
If I can explain. All my directory searchers live outside of Spain but they are only looking for results within Spain.
If I recall correctly this problem did not exist before the latest updates to the ‘Multilocation Plugin’, since then I have ground to a halt on development of the site.

Have a look at the attachment, does your FireFox not have that?

The Location sharing add-on has nothing to do with the problem that you cannot enter anything in the address field.
That is a function of the current version which was built so it would assist people finding their location.
This function will be fixed in the new version.Use IE or Chrome, that should work better.
Switch location means visitors navigating to the Malaga pages for example on your website.
Share location asks visitors if they want to share where they are, and then your website will serve the closest location in your database. For example a UK user would be taken to the Barcelona page if you only would have a Malaga and a Barcelona page because that is the location closer to them.Sorry for the trouble guys, it had all been tested at Stiofan’s test site, but obviously there are other configurations out there which were not allowed for.
August 22, 2014 at 8:01 am #12845Thank you, Guust. I suspected it has something to do with the new address autocompleter that has been added recently but share location comes to mind becauase it kept on popping up. 🙂
August 22, 2014 at 10:04 am #12864OK, it looks like I will have to be patient and wait for the new address auto-completer update.
I did add the show location add on to Firefox from here. Is this the one you mean?
Cheers

August 22, 2014 at 11:54 am #12875Les, my firefox is straight out of the box, I do not have any FireFox add-ons.
Somehow you must have a different version of FireFox, mine is 31.0 on Windows 8.If you use Chrome or Internet Exploder, it should work for now.
September 3, 2014 at 6:27 am #14115Help. I have just got back to working on my directory and the problem with location is still there. This is stopping any development and is becoming frustrating.
I have turned off geo location in Firefox, see here and there is no improvement and I have tried adding locations using Chrome and setting the locations just will not work.
What am I doing wrong?
September 3, 2014 at 1:11 pm #14159Can you try now?
Since the new version you have a new option at
GD > multilocations > location settings > Disable Google address autocomplete?
I set that option to disabled, and it seems to work fine for me (but maybe not for you?)September 3, 2014 at 6:35 pm #14209Hi Guust,
Is the disable address autocompleter option added to fix the Firefox error specifically?
I like the autocompleter but if firefox users will have issues, I will just disable it. I hope you’re working on another fix to address the firefox issue without disabling the autocompleter.
September 3, 2014 at 7:44 pm #14221ManilaBoy, I have asked Stiofan to answer your question.
September 4, 2014 at 8:04 am #14245Guust. I can now add locations successfully on Firefox so long as geo location is turned off in Firefox. However (and very strangely) on my Chrome browser the map does not show any listings if you do any searches on the map. Please check http://directory.spainpropertycentral.co.uk/ using Chrome. Thanks.
September 4, 2014 at 11:56 am #14253You still have the Share Location Manager activated, so Chrome does ask you for your location. I suggest you de-activate that add-on, based on your earlier comments that your main audience is not in the same location as your listings.
If you say yes when Chrome asks you to share location, it will serve you listings in the closest location in your database. For me that is http://directory.spainpropertycentral.co.uk/location/spain/valencian-community/gilet-1/ and there is nothing there.
If you then go “Home”, it stays in that location, that is correct behaviour (that is why you need the Location Switcher and breadcrumbs usually to make it easier for your visitors).
To reset the map, you can go to http://directory.spainpropertycentral.co.uk/location/ , that takes you back to the Everywhere location.
One suggestion there is to link Home to http://directory.spainpropertycentral.co.uk/location/ instead of http://directory.spainpropertycentral.co.uk/September 4, 2014 at 12:21 pm #14256I think this is a location manager/firefox issue, and will hopefully be fixed in the next version.
Thanks,
Stiofan
September 4, 2014 at 8:24 pm #14328Hi Stiofan,
Just to clarify…does it mean that the address autocompleter on the Add Listing form will work with Firefox in the next version?
September 8, 2014 at 3:22 pm #14638it should do.
