I dont succeeded and support ignores me…
July 18, 2014 at 6:33 am #8944Hi Amolin, I did question the same and here is the answer I got from support.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/display-categories-on-listing-page/In your post you referred to : http://templatic.com/demos/?theme=directory
Apparently this theme development company seem to support our requirements.
However I’ve no idea how good their products are. Also the deliver this functionality by themes and not by plugins, which is a difference.Anyway I felt, I should let you know.

You mentioned categoriy top section is available but I can’t find the widget or setting for it. Could you please tell me how to show the categories of the current post type or category?
Thanks!
August 6, 2014 at 9:44 pm #11232007, I think you are referring to the GD > popular post categories widget ?
August 7, 2014 at 1:19 am #11250Good evening, Guust.
Thanks for taking your time to answer me.
I was actually thinking about a widget to show all the categories of a post type. From reading this thread I thought Vikas was going to make one–although I wasn’t sure if that was the case.
Is there any way to do this? I did find a way to do that using GeoTheme so if there’s not a solution yet I can try to modify my old code.
Thanks again. Have a great evening!
August 7, 2014 at 1:37 am #11251That widget will show all the categories of a CTP.
What am I missing?
Have you tried it?August 7, 2014 at 2:12 am #11255Hi Guust,
I have it on my site at the top of the listing page of a CPT. It’s only showing the categories that have been viewed instead of all categories. I didn’t see where I could change any settings in the widget.
Having said that, I only have one listing (it has 3 categories) right now for the CPT during development. Perhaps only categories that have at least 1 listing will show? If so, that’s actually a good thing.
Thanks again!
August 7, 2014 at 2:30 am #11257Yes, categories without any listings will not show.
A category will show the listing count in the particular search (location or CTP).It does not show the categories that are viewed, it will show all categories of a CTP if you navigate to one CTP only, or all the categories if you navigate to a location.
See my test site to have a play: http://goldroo.net/August 7, 2014 at 2:40 am #11258Hi Guust,
That’s perfect. Thank you for inviting me to your test site as well. That’ll help alot.
Have a great evening.
October 18, 2014 at 2:42 pm #18820Hi
I also have 3 different custom post types. All 3 post types have the same tags. When I add the “Popular Post Category widget” it is not possible to find out which tag/Post category belongs to which CPT. Is there a way to categorize them like amolin is talkin about – maybe with a headline for the CTP?I’ve attached two screen dumps, one of how it looks like as it is now on my page with the 3 CTP with same tags, and then one from the templatic.com which categorizes the tags into post types.

October 18, 2014 at 10:59 pm #18852I’ll alert Stiofan.
I am not sure, but I think a solution might have been worked on where different custom post types have the same category as shown in your pic at https://wpgeodirectory.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Sk%C3%A6rmbillede-2014-10-18-kl.-16.38.16.pngOctober 20, 2014 at 9:30 am #18914thank you 🙂
October 20, 2014 at 10:24 am #18915In the next version that widget will detect what post type you are viewing and display only categories from that post type.
