    Hi all, I had no idea where to post this as the issue is happening with pretty much every theme in some way or form.

    I am running Wp 4.5.2 with GD 1.6.2 and problem is when I go into theme options such as whoop options or gdf options and set site width to 98%…. nothing changes….. am I doing something wrong?? yes I am saving changes and clearing cache….all other settings are as recommended content at 67% sidebar at 30% regardless layout is stuck at 1040 px.

    if this is a bug/glitch I’d like to know it’s not me missing something…

    any feedback would save me from the nuthouse lol.

    thanks much.

    Hi Roy,

    Could you tell us a little bit more about what you’re trying to achieve? Are you trying to make the contents larger or smaller? Or do you mind sharing a screenshot of what you are trying to achieve?

    Thanks!

    hi,

    in whoop only the header and footer will be affected by that setting. The content wrapper is fixed and max-width:1040px.

    If you want to force that to 98% too, add this to your custom css:

    #geodir_wrapper {
        max-width: 98%;
     }

    On GDF it will work for the whole template.

    Let us know if that is what you wanted.

    Thanks

    great… yes that what I wanted to change the wrapper, as it sits now at 1040px it is too narrow for 728×90 banners which means I can’t be IAB compliant or offer the IAB Universal ad package. Might I suggest changing the description in the whoop options to say header width not site width, the latter seems all encompassing.

    On an additional note, I wish someone could have told me this in my first post 11 days ago…. i just spent 483 USD (634 CAD) at codeable to have someone start work on modified version of the whoop theme to fix that width issue because I couldn’t figure out how and assumed i got ignored because it was a customization (not covered by support),and not a limitation of the theme ( due to the wording in the options) from the start **cries** I’m honestly quite upset at the moment… so much so I feel ill….

    I just talked to Stiofan and USD480 for something like that is outrageous.

    Could you please provide access to your theme, so that we can check exactly how many lines of code they added for that much money?

    Let us know,

    Thanks

    I haven’t received it yet as hes still adjusting and troubleshooting. AND I have to apologise, I just noticed that in my flurry of thoughts and emotions I missed mentioning, that cost was for one other adjustment, the addition of a third dedicated menu location in the sidebar for the location switcher. Which while looking for a solution to another issue yesterday (which i found btw) I found that the switcher can now be in a sidebar with about 3 lines of code, a text widget, and a shortcode lol… not sure if that’s ironic or not….

    With that said though IF the dev can actually do what I retained him for I’d certainly let you look at the theme. I’m curious to know too to be honest simply because yes that fee seemed absurdly high for what to me seems like a case of copy and paste…. but then again I’ve been working with WP themes for a total of as many days as I’ve been a member here.(former joomla groupie) I’m finding that 95% of my CMS knowledge is currently more of a hinderance than anything.
