Today I discovered errors in my sitemap.
The main sitemap sitemap_index.xml using Rank Math can’t be loaded and results in a 404 error where GeoDirectory is installed. All other sitemaps in sites without GeoDirectory load fine. (Exact same installations without GeoDirectory load fine the sitemap)
Going to search console I see that in fact the sites with GD have errors.
gd_place_tags-sitemap.xml

How to fix it?
Thanks.
April 6, 2020 at 6:35 pm #538757Hi P O,
Thanks for your post. There could be some misconfiguration. Are you getting the same issue if you use yoast? https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/integrations/yoast/ . Also, share your Website WP admin access here in private reply and we’ll check this out for you.

Also, please do tests in your test sites, not in mine.
What did you change in the setup?
Thanks.
April 7, 2020 at 10:19 am #538884I haven’t seen this issue on my local site with rank math.
also haven’t noticed the warning you mentioned above.since you are running a cache plugin so I guess it could be a cache issue.
Please flush your cache on other sites and check again.I haven’t done any changes, I just ran the setup wizard with existing settings.
Meanwhile, I will try to reproduce the issue on another test setup.
Thanks
April 7, 2020 at 11:13 am #538897Will keep watching this, because the only thing I changed, was updating GD, nothing else.
All my other sites without GD, work fine.
I already ran the wizard in all sites to make them work again.
Keep in mind that the sitemaps with errors are:
gd_place_tags-sitemap.xml
gd_placecategory-sitemap.xmlThanks.
April 7, 2020 at 11:18 am #538901I am still getting this in Search Console:
gd_place_tags-sitemap.xml
gd_placecategory-sitemap.xmlGeneral HTTP error
We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit. So there is a problem with your sitemaps.
Please let me know how to fix them.
Thanks.
April 7, 2020 at 1:45 pm #538934Hello,
I checked all urls of the sitemaps gd_place_tags-sitemap.xml & gd_placecategory-sitemap.xml and all urls are working fine without any error.
Is there any more details about the HTTP error like url?
Provide us FTP credentials so we can debug if there any error in log.
Regards,
KiranApril 7, 2020 at 3:17 pm #538955That is correct.
But if you go to Google Search Console you get:
General HTTP error
We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit. And that is the problem.
You need to go to your Search Console to test, not to my FTP.
Thanks.

Run Rank Math wizard again and now the main one shows. But as before, the internal ones fail.
/gd_place_tags-sitemap.xml
/gd_placecategory-sitemap.xml
/post-sitemap.xmlI really need a fix for this, GD is affecting everything in Search Console.
Thanks.
April 13, 2020 at 6:23 am #539766This reply has been marked as private.April 14, 2020 at 5:45 pm #540173Today again.
Sitemap loading fine in site.com/sitemap_index.xml
Update to GeoDirectory 2.0.0.88
site.com/sitemap_index.xml 404 error
So you are breaking it. Maybe people don’t care or they haven’t even notice this, but you should really fix this.
Now I will will have to once again, run RankMath Setup.
Thanks.
