I have a site that has many listings and will eventually have thousands. Searching and sorting is key for my users to be able to find what they want or know what is available based upon their requirements.

When i open one of my CPT sets the sorting options are there but after i use the advanced search options they disappear and only the view option remains. The advanced search will reduce the number of listings but there could still be hundreds of listings. This is because to reduce the number of options categorised by the advanced search I have had to keep the categories at quite a high generic level.

How can the sorting options stay after an advanced search has been completed?

Also, will there be a way of having the related listings set to multiple categories, tags and/or location instead of just category or tags so that I could choose what each listing would be related to?

    Hello!

Sorting for search results is not currently a feature of GD, but I will flag your question for the developers to provide an update, as this issue has been raised in the past. (ex. https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/no-sorting-for-search-results/ )

The shortcode for related listings is here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-shortcodes/#related

Again, let’s ask the developers if there is a workaround to use multiple categories and tags at the same time.

thank you. it should be a relatively quick win to keep the sorting options based upon search results. As the sorting options haven’t changed. it’s only the listings that are displayed that the sort is based upon.
