Hi
My site camping.uk-directory.com appears to be sending out alot of spam and we have been blacklisted and can’t send out emails. My business partner it is convinced it is coming from with geodirectory.
Can anyone advise and help me?
Thanks
LiamOctober 23, 2018 at 1:02 pm #450956Change all your admin and FTP passwords.
Install https://wordpress.org/plugins/sucuri-scanner/
And ask your host to check what is sending the spam.
Do you have https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/gd-recaptcha/ installed to protect your listings’ contact forms?Make sure you only install well-maintained plugins and keep everything up to date.

October 24, 2018 at 9:51 am #451063Hi Alex,
I have installed the plug in as suggested what steps do i take next?
Also we have issues with the map on the home page which displays ‘for development use only’ do you know how I get the original map working? https://camping.uk-directory.com/Thanks
October 24, 2018 at 10:23 am #451066The plugin that Alex suggests will show all emails sent by your WP installation, including GD.
If other emails are sent, then that has nothing to do with WP or GD, but some rogue files on your server.
The Sucuri plugin will find the rogue files within WP. Your host should be able to any other rogue files. You may need to add your billing option to the Google Map API project, see https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/directions/usage-and-billing
and https://wpgeodirectory.com/google-maps-platform-changes-directory-developers/Thanks
October 24, 2018 at 1:13 pm #451088Thanks for that I think I have the map working but I have no idea what it is going to cost, we will see.
My site is still getting loads of spam emails coming to my email address. They all say they are coming from my admin contact form. I added recaptcha abut a month ago but I am still getting bombarded with spam emails.
Can you advise on how I can stop these, thanks

Hi AdminYou have recieved a new message via the website contact form, it reads;
October 24, 2018 at 1:34 pm #451097Make sure there is a recaptcha on all versions of the form, or remove the form.
You can contact the author of the plugin used to create the form.
October 24, 2018 at 1:35 pm #451098Please talk to your host, your server has been compromised, this is not GD related.
October 24, 2018 at 1:40 pm #451102Hi David,
Thanks for your reply. If the spam emails are coming from your end, it’s urgent that you check with your hosting provider or subscribe to premium security services like Guust shared ‘Sucuri’. But if spams are coming from other places and into your email, I don’t think there is much you can do. Probably your email has been listed on some spammers site.
Thanks!
