Textarea Character Limit

    Hi,

    I wanted to add a textarea field to one of the custom post type forms.

    Is it true that you can’t limit the character count for this kind of field?

    In the business listing form there is the single detail description which has the character count limit. But I believe that field can only be used once on any form.

    Can you help me sort this out?

    Ideally I would like to have two separate text fields, similar to how the events appear, but with character limits on both.

    I hope this is clear.

    So for example the detail page result would appear:

    Images

    Detail text field one (5,000 characters)

    Detail text field two (5,000 characters)

    Video / Audio field one

    Video / Audio field two

    Map

    Hi Kathy,

    To enable the listing description limit, go to GD > Prices and Payments > Package > Apply description limit. Furthermore, I don’t think its possible to have two descriptions. You can use a custom field for this but without character limitation.

    Thanks for your reply. Not without customization and I hope you understand. But I’ll forward this to a developer for a second opinion.

    @stiofan – is it possible to apply character limit for “Textarea” custom fields?

    There is no setting for it but it is something that could be added with a small JS snippet.
