April 23, 2014 at 7:34 am #639I have tried GD with lots of themes and I can not find any settings for the location switcher in admin backend.
I want to use GD with Genesis but can not get the location switcher to show.
Could you tell me where the settings are to make the switcher work in the Nav Bar please ?
Many thanks
HenryMany thanks
HenryApril 23, 2014 at 9:18 am #640If you mean the settings in the admin backend ‘Show location switcher in menu’
This is already checked – that is why I can see it in the 2012 theme and it works fine.
BUT I can not get it to show in any other theme – I have tried lots of themes and I can only see it in the 2012 theme?
I appreciate that you and maybe other people have used other themes with no problems but I am not alone in this situation – there are other people having the same problem which were posted on the Geothemes forum.
Please advise for this is a great product but it will be a shame if it is limited to only certain themes.
Many thanks

Although I can not see the location switcher in the menu bar in Genesis and you are looking in to it for me – I have another question for you which maybe a solution for my needs.
I really would like ‘EVERYWHERE’ to be the default location permanently.
So, if I set the location to everywhere in the 2012 theme which I can see on the menu bar and then change the theme to genesis will everywhere remain as the default location permanently? It seems to be so.
If that is the case I am not bothered about the location switcher showing in genesis because I would not need it.
what are your thoughts on this
Many thanks
HenryApril 23, 2014 at 12:57 pm #667OK,

April 23, 2014 at 1:17 pm #668Hi,
Plz check, Location switcher is there now. If u have create a new menu using wordpress menu then u have to choose at which navigation location u want to show GD related menu.
for that please go to
GeoDirectory > Design > Navigation > Show geodirectory navigation in selected menu locations
I have chose Primary Navigation menu. Thanks
April 23, 2014 at 2:19 pm #669Thanks for all your help Vikas that explains a great deal
Just one more question
If location is set to EVERYWHERE which is what I want
I presume I can just unset the menu location and it will dissappear off the Nav Menu but keep the setting ‘EVERYWHERE’
It seems to be working like that and looks fine
Thanks once again
HenryApril 23, 2014 at 3:12 pm #672So everything seems to be working fine ?

April 24, 2014 at 3:51 pm #722could you tell us what page template is used for detail display (single.php or page.php etc)
April 26, 2014 at 1:40 am #817Hi,
The template file which is used for listing detail is located in wp-contents/geodirectory/geodirectory-templates/listing-detail.php
Note: Please don’t make any changes in this file as those changes might get wiped out if we make any change in that file and u update the plugin in near future.
If you would like to make changes in look and feel of listing detail page then there r 2 ways to do it.
1. Using hooks and actions available there (U need programming knowledge to use that)
2. Just place this file in your theme folder and make any change, this will override functionality of default template located in plugin. Please advise?
Thanks
-VikasApril 26, 2014 at 12:13 pm #836I am having trouble getting the maps to work on the listing and detail page. I do not want to use geodirectory map on homepage, is this causing the prob? Please let me know what I need to do to enable the maps besides setting up widgets. Thanks
