I can’t get the title tag to show the actual location. It will only show “Location | Site name”, no matter what location is shown. This is of course very bad for SEO, so I’d like to fix it.
See this link for an example:
http://sithoniagreece.com/location/sithonia/neos-marmaras/I have entered meta titles and descriptions in Multilocations > SEO settings, but they still don’t show in the title tag.
I don’t use Yoast, but saw that GeoDirectory has Title and Meta tags options. For good measure I even ticked the box to disable overwrite by Yoast.
On the listing pages, strangely, the category in the proper location shows up in the title tag.
I just can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong, so I hope for your help.

Thanks
June 19, 2017 at 10:08 am #383811I have looked at those instructions.
These are my settings for Location page meta title:
%%title%% %%location%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%But it only produces “Location | Sithonia Greece”, (see link http://sithoniagreece.com/location/sithonia/neos-marmaras/) even though I have filled out the Meta Title in GeoDirectory > Multilocations > SEO settings for that location.
Why doesn’t it affect the title tag?
Thankful for any help
June 19, 2017 at 11:31 am #383831Multilocation SEO settings are not for page titles, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/location-manager-widgets/
The title of the page is Location but I am not sure why the %%location%% is not showing.
Please post WP Admin details if we need to have a look.

June 19, 2017 at 1:40 pm #383883It’s updated now, but with no changes in the title tages.
June 19, 2017 at 5:41 pm #383920Hi,
current version of the location manager is 1.5.50, you have 1.5.40.
Advance search 1.4.9, you have 1.4.5.You can see all version number here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/your-account/
Please make sure to update them all and also make sure to install WP Easy Updates for future updates: https://wpgeodirectory.com/wp-easy-updates/
Let us know if that fixes all problems.
Thanks
June 20, 2017 at 5:25 am #383969Everything is updated now. But no change in the title tag.
June 20, 2017 at 9:54 am #383985Please update Location Manager to 1.5.50.
Thanks.June 20, 2017 at 11:04 am #383993Please note that Location Manager is updated to 1.5.50. There is the older version of Location Manager there (I updated this time for simplicity’s sake through FTP), but as you can see it is not active.
The active version is 1.5.50. And it did not produce a proper title tag for the Location page.
June 20, 2017 at 12:02 pm #384004I cannot find the problem, I’ll get a developer to have a closer look.
June 20, 2017 at 1:01 pm #384019Hi sithonia,
Please check now, seems works fine now.
You have selected same page for “GD Home page” and “Location page” at GD > Permalinks > GeoDirectory Pages. Both should have different pages.
Let us know.

June 20, 2017 at 1:07 pm #384021I believe we suggest this in our docs, we need to correct it if it causes problems…
June 20, 2017 at 1:26 pm #384027Thank you very much! Yes, now it works.
I thought I should select GD Home page only if I wanted that page to actually be the home page of the site, as I interpreted the following statement in your doc to mean that:
Choose your directory start page here (this is not always the same as the homepage of your website):
1. If you want to use one of your normal WordPress pages for the homepage of your website, then select the GD Location page here.
2. Choose GD Home Page if you want your directory home page to be the home page of your website. But changing that settting didn’t change the home page, so I’m happy that it resolved this issue with the title tag.
Thanks a lot!
