Hi, merry Xmas and all that. I have just updated to V2, and all looks good, except that if I try to add a new listing in any of my CPTs I just get a white screen… is there a bug or what have I done wrong?

The add listing page should have [gd_add_listing]

Did you follow the docs here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/setup/
    and here? https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/installation/#convert

If we need to check the settings please include WP Admin in a private reply.

The Gutenberg plugin was only an option before WP 5.
If you change theme, you always will need to re-do widgets and menus.

It was not possible in V1 to add specific detail widgets into the sidebar of specific listings.
So I am not sure how you accomplished that.

I Used the Display Widgets plugin and selected SHOW ON option and then the post ID. Added the Facebook page Like Feed to that specific CPT on their Detail page. Incidentally since I updated to V2 the plugin no longer works, and there may be a problem with my server setup, since I can’t get into details of other plugins, with that as the warning…

Just re-installed WP 5.0.2, still no Gutenberg on CPTs

You mean when adding a listing? That will never be Gutenberg, that has to be similar as the front end.
Frontend posts cannot be made with blocks either.

Ok, my confusion and apologies. Thought it was implied that Gutenberg would be part of CPTs in V2…

GD uses a simplified editor for listings because, just as GD doesn’t allow access to the media library, neither does it allow listing owners to use shortcodes or setup maps or other block in the listing description area. Any field that has shortcodes enabled should be admin only so end users do not have access.

OK, thanks for clarification. Next issue (s)
1 Can’t remove opacity filter from header image. Tried CSS in Customize, but no joy
2 Directions don’t work – Get Directions button is not activated…
3 If I remove the Description Custom Field (because I don’t want the full text in my sidebar) then the entire Profile Tab disappears, and I can’t seem to do one without the other.
    Thanks for all your help

In fact, I don’t seem to be using the Output Location widget properly, I just moved it up and down the list and I can’t actually see it… It is listed as Outputs Location>Details page Sidebar, but doesn’t seem to show. That relates to issue 3.

I’m sure you’re getting bored with me, but the issue seems to be a conflict between GD Listings and GD Outputs. I have hidden the Listings, and now the Outputs are visible.

    1. opacity, try the css here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/common-styling-examples/#supreme-overlay
    2. Sidebar get directions button works now, some other problem?
    3. Description is generally required. Ty removing it from the sidebar in “Show in what locations”?

OK, thanks for your reply. Point 1 is now sorted, thanks.
2 – In my sidebar I have the GD Directions widget, which works, but the Get Directions Custom Field from the Outputs Location is a dead link (I’ve tried them both)
3 – If Description check box in setting is active then it shows up on sidebar and Detail page as Tab Profile which is more text than I want in my widget. If Description not active then widget looks fine, but not Profile tab or description as per image below…

Also can’t see any widgets (map, listings etc) in the GD Top widget space. GD>Map GD>Listings, Categories widgets all tested, no appearance on the actual page http://www.clarensnews.co.za or anywhere else. Is there an issue with the widget areas?
