Hi,
What would switching from GDv1 to GDv2 involve later on? Would it be as simple as clicking on an Update button or would we have to remove the old version and install the new one?
The same question would apply to the add-ons.
If it all needs to be re-installed, it would cause a lot of work and probably issues in the process..
October 31, 2018 at 4:43 pm #452022Hello,
We are working on a step by step upgrade tool to make it as easy as possible.
Right now the setup wizard can place menu items and sidebar widgets that are necessary.
V2 core and addons are pre-release now. Once released they will be available via the upgrade tool.
November 1, 2018 at 1:35 pm #452123Hi Alex,
I understand that the V2 is not officially released yet. I just wanted to make sure that once it is released, I will be able to upgrade the V1 version to the new one just by clicking upgrade and would not have to re-install the plugin and add-ons. It sounds like that is how it is going to work.?
And I assume we will receive some kind of notification when the V2 is released officially?Thank you!
November 1, 2018 at 5:59 pm #452160Hello,
Yes it will just be standard upgrades once it replaces GDv1 as the main download.
Till then you can use the beta versions, if you install GDv2 core it will then make it look for v2 addon updates that can be upgraded as normal. Thanks,
Stiofan
November 7, 2018 at 12:55 pm #452864Hello! I can not find a complete guide to the transition from version 1 to version 2. Perhaps this is due to the fact that I do not speak English.
Please correct me. Do I understand correctly? What should be done before the start of convection, in what order?
Do I need to install a new V2 theme (supreme-directory-2.0.0.1-pk) if I use the GeoDirectory Framework V1?
Deactivate all V1 plugins?
Activate required V2 plugins?
Unzip the Core GeoDirectory archive (V2.0.0.18) to the plugins folder, as specified in https://wpgeodirectory.com/location-manager-v2-beta-initial-release/, or you must use the GeoDirectory V2 archive. 0.0.34?
Start the conversion.*How long does it take to convert a small site to 100 listings?
November 8, 2018 at 11:25 am #453023I would appreciate an answer to my question.

November 9, 2018 at 4:28 pm #453266Hi, so according to the upgrade instructions, I will have to remove the GDv1 and install the GDv2. Will this affect/remove the listings, users and site customizations already on the website?
November 9, 2018 at 7:13 pm #453292Hi @Wholistic,
listing data is converted, but users are not touched at all. Site customizations are specific to a version and will need to be examined individually.
If you have more questions please create a new topic as this one is already resolved.
Thanks
November 9, 2018 at 9:01 pm #453336Okay, thank you!
