sorry. as I am working on my project I have another question. I want users of my site to be able to make one post only (and as they do they sign up for the site – as to edit the post in the future). How would I go about to do that? also, ideally each post is first added to the pending list as they have confirmed their e-mail address… thanks for pointing me to a tutorial or similar.!

There isn’t a setting for that. I responded in your other thread that Pricing Manager is one-listing-one-payment, and the user can go through and do that as many times as they want.

We do not currently have an official integration with something that can limit the number of post types published per author.

    Are you charging for listings?

hi Alex and thanks for the quick reply. then “one post only” will have to remain on my wish list. However – I also need a tip to how to proceed to allow people to sign up as they add a listing. sorry for being that noob…. help appreciated!

We recommend using our UsersWP for login and registration forms.

When you say one post, do you mean something like a blog post for that listing or logging in and creating a new “post” / listing?

In the design I’m working on, I want the paid listing to be able to make an announcement. A free listing would not have this option.

My idea is to have a Text-area field only available for the paid listing. Then they can log-in and update the listing with a new “post” / announcement in the Text-area, replacing the old text that was there before.

    Would that work for you?

I meant a listing (which is a WordPress Custom Post Type created by GeoDirectory).

You can add a second post type like “Announcement” and charge for that, too.

The field you mention could be an Announcement field, sure, and make that field only available on the paid listing package.

hej again. I now installed the UsersWP plugin and the frontend post plugin. I would want visitors to be able to post an entry to my geodirectory post type. instead they (for now) end up in the normal “posts”. how would I change that – so that they are added to gd_place?

thanks for clearing that up for me!

You can add links to the GeoDirectory add listing page in the menu settings

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/navigation/

You do not need the UsersWP frontend posts plugin to do that.
