Hi,
After doing a quick forum scan I noticed that back on June 4th, Paolo mentioned the possibility of doing some creative things with the Registration form, I just added to that thread to get an update.
In the meantime, Since the sign-in/sign-up registration form is a little plain I did find a plugin that will do a nice job in creating a styled WP-admin page.
The question is, can I use the WP-ADMIN link for new registrations then direct them
to the Add listing page after they have their credentials or does it circumvent the GD process.I have included a sample (just a test version) of what the plugin can do, If this method doesn’t work maybe I’ll ask the plugin creator if they can do it with the GD registration, Or wait for GD team to come up with a better idea.
The plugin is called Erident Custom login and dashboard
Thanks,
June 21, 2014 at 8:19 pm #5509that is currently not possible without modifying core files.
If you take 1 day to learn some css though, you could make the login page much better than that without plugins…
ThxJune 22, 2014 at 6:54 pm #5578Thanks, I would love to do that but life gets in the way. I will just have to pay someone until I do.
June 22, 2014 at 6:56 pm #5579Maybe off topic, but if there was a way for forum members to tag the thread as
‘resolved’, it would probably free up some of your valuable time so your team doesn’t have to.June 22, 2014 at 7:06 pm #5583@nasc If it’s just a nice login you want for the moment, why not use https://wordpress.org/plugins/theme-my-login/
“It creates a page to use in place of wp-login.php, using a page template from your theme. Also includes a widget for sidebar login.”June 22, 2014 at 7:27 pm #5589Thanks, but does this work with the with the GD theme, replacing their dual
form with login on one side and registration on the other side? Or combine them?I found two very good plugins Erident and A5 Custom login page, but unless I’m doing something wrong, they only work with the wp-admin login.
Is this one different? That would be great if it worked.
June 23, 2014 at 3:13 pm #5686I’m having trouble- At the moment, after the user registers, it does not require an email confirmation, it logs them in instantly then directs them to add listing page which does not include the proper packages. Figured this thread was the closest to matching my topic.
June 24, 2014 at 12:22 am #5802Hi Zeb,
I replied to the topic you opened about the registration problem. Let’s continue there to keep the discussion on topic.
As far as email confirmation on registration, wordpress by default doesn’t provide that option. It only sends the password to the user and requires to login. We avoided the 2 step to make registration faster and incentivate listing submissions. If I remember correctly, wordpress multisite adds email confirmation to the registration process. But I’m positive wordpress single site doesn’t.
There are various plugins that will add the email confirmation feature to your website, but I’m not 100% sure they will work out of the box with GD:

Would you please see if any of them would work as desired? If not we will look into an integration with the most popular of them.
Thanks
July 1, 2014 at 2:49 am #6914Hi Paolo,
Allowing a “user” to register and then log them in without a password is a recipe for spam listings gone wild!
Please make it an option for those of us that don’t want to be continually cleaning out garbage from the draft folder to enforce new registrations to login with a password after registering.
July 1, 2014 at 5:28 pm #7014Hi,
I’ll ask VIkas to look into it.
Thx
