    Hi,
for members that create their listing until 31.10.2019 I would like to grant a discount of 50% valid for the current and ALL future payments – let’s say life-long discount for those who came first.

    So I install a discount code …
    – valid until 31.10.2019
    – valid for future payments
    – can be used by an unlimited amount of users

I would be grateful if you could tell me whether the following phrases then are true or false:

    1) When a user creates a listing after 31.10.2019, he/she cannot take advantage of this discount code anymore.

    2) Those users having created their listing with the discount before 31.10.2019 will be granted the discount for all future payments, also for payments effected after 31.10.2019.

    3) A user who has created listing A with the discount code before 31.10.2019 and creates listing B after 31.10.2019 will not be able to take advantage of the discount code for listing B, neither for the first nor for future payments.

Thank you very much in advance
    Birgit

    Sorry, one more question:
The discount for recurring payments only works for packages with recurrent payments, right?

The only payment gateway I offer so far is advance payment via bank transfer. So far there is no recurrent package possible for bank transfer payments.

    1) Does that mean, I cannot offer this code with this payment mode (even though people do not really have to pay anything)?

    2) If I additionally offered paypal as payment gateway, would only those people who choose this gateway be able to take advantage of the discount?
… for me it seems funny for a discount to be dependent on the payment mode.

    Thank you and best regards
    Birgit

Using the bank transfer option, there is no way you can force people to transfer money automatically, like using PayPal etc.

    1. Correct.

    2. Correct.

A recurring discount can only be used with recurring packages.
Recurring packages can only be created where a system exists that enables an automated contract to be entered into for future payments.
Manual bank transfers do not offer that possibility.

Hm … I am avoiding paypal as it is not so accepted by business clients in Europe, particularly not in my business.

So I am now trying to find an alternative way to realize a life long discount for those users who create their listings by a certain date.

Instead of a discount I maybe could create a package which is free and valid for ever and can be booked like this only until 31.10.2019.
To prevent people from booking the package after 31.10.2019, I would then deactivate the package.

    Two questions:
    1) Do I assume it right that once I deactivate the package it is not visible resp. not bookable anymore?

    2) After I deactivate the package on 31.10.2019 – will it still be valid for those users who have booked it before 31.10.2019?

    Best regards
    Birgit

    Oh, it is okay 🙂
With a 100 % discount everyone can use the paypal gateway without even having/using paypal. So it is a recurring package with paypal and it works fine.

    Thank you 🙂
