I’m a bit confused about how to build shortcodes and where I need to insert them.
For example, if I want my package price to appear as value I need the shortcode [gd_post_meta key=”package_id” show=”value”].
1. I stumbled across this shortcode for it on this page https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/addons/pricing-manager/ – but where else can I find/build shortcodes. The only other place I’ve seen is in Places > Settnigs > Tabs > Custom Fields > Shortcodes > Edit > Click Tab Button, and then I have to copy and past. Is this the only way?
2. Now that I have this shortcode, where do I insert it so that it appears on the Add Listing page? If I edit the /add-listing/ page and add it to the Gutenburg page underneath the other shortcodes, it doesn’t work.
Thanks!

Maybe you want to try adding that to your sidebar. Choose a GD Post Meta widget, and add it to the sidebar that shows on the GD Details template.

https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/templates/details/February 19, 2020 at 10:39 pm #531306Yes, I can see how I can use widgets and blocks to add elements such as reviews to areas. But in the example I am using, how do I amend the shortcode for showing package as value and make that appear on the Add Listing page? Thanks
February 20, 2020 at 4:00 pm #531433Can you say more about what you want to display?
It sounds like you want to display some extra information about the currently selected package. Have you already tried editing the package Title in the CPT Package settings tab? That is the easiest place to add more information. On the add listing WP Page you can use the area above and below the gd_add_listing shortcode to add additional content like HTML.
However, the only GD Shortcodes for that page are gd_notifications and gd_add_listing. You can use others, but badges for the active listing won’t work.
February 20, 2020 at 4:36 pm #531439Yes, I’d like my packages to appear as price as mentioned in the Design section of https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/addons/pricing-manager/.
As per the directions go the the Tab UI to generate the shortcode and it gives me this: [gd_post_meta key=”package_id” show=”value”].
I then copy and paste it into the Add Listing Template so it shows as follows…
[gd_notifications]
[gd_post_meta key=”package_id” show=”value”].
[gd_add_listing show_login=1]but it doesn’t show up. Making me think I’m not putting the shortcode in the right place.
Thanks!
February 20, 2020 at 8:48 pm #531474Sorry for the trouble, that documentation was in error and I have updated it.
GD Post Meta can be used to display the Price package ID, not the price.
You can use badges on the GD Details or GD Archive Item template, but not on the add-listing page.
What you can do is add a pricing table there, with a 3rd party plugin shortcode.
