Hello,
I am searching for the template of the page which is shown when linking from a category shown on the GD-home page.
The page is not styled in full with, but shows a map at top. I want to have this pages the same style as “Home Business Directory” with full with map.
Next thing is that I want to style the map the same style as “Home Business Directory”.
I do not find it on add on custom google maps…Thanks for any info and help!
Greetings, Chris
January 25, 2016 at 12:18 am #110933Hi Chris, have a look here:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/layout/To change the layout of the Listings/Category template go to GD > Design > Listings and choose the sections you want to use.
Then go to Appearance > Widgets and add widgets as required.January 26, 2016 at 10:46 pm #112052Hi Guust,
thank you for the info – I got that, but I think you misunderstood.
What I need is the GD TOP Section in full width. So far I did not find any chance to set that option.
At WP-page “Home business Directory” (/directory) at header content i have the setting:
[gd_homepage_map width=100% height=600px maptype=roadmap zoom=6 autozoom=true child_collapse=true scrollwheel=false marker_cluster=1 ]The same setting I would need for the listing page. But I dont have a “listing page” to set that.
If I set the map at the widgets, its always “page size” not full size.
The full size content can only be set at the page itself, but there is none. I guess its a template, but where to find it?Greetings, Chris
January 26, 2016 at 10:51 pm #112053Can you post some relevant URLs and your admin details please in a private reply. That will make things a lot easier.
It all depends on the theme you are using too.January 26, 2016 at 10:54 pm #112054This reply has been marked as private.January 27, 2016 at 12:06 pm #112260I don’t understand how you added the map to the location page. You do not have a map widget in the GD Home Top section.
And your GD pages are not at first level, but are all child pages, so ‘/partner/directory’ is the same page as ‘/directory’
I think that is also why your listings do not show on the location map.
And I cannot figure out Kleo’s CSS.I’ll call in the smarter ones.
January 27, 2016 at 12:22 pm #112276Hi Guust,
thank you for your effort.
Your first question is answered above:At WP-page “Home business Directory” (/directory) at header content i have the setting:
[gd_homepage_map width=100% height=600px maptype=roadmap zoom=6 autozoom=true child_collapse=true scrollwheel=false marker_cluster=1 ]This means that at the template for this page I am able to add the map, works great.
I do not have a template for the listing pages…or should it be the same?
The level is OK (I guess). Just for understanding: Partner stands for places. Speaking of that, I did rename places at the settings. But this worked only one time. Now its “partner” always. Also when you save places as default…How did you set the full width at your sample pages? I cant figure out where this is done.
Reading the manual, it says top sections is full with, but it isn’t…Greetings, Chris
January 27, 2016 at 12:56 pm #112302I have now added the map widget to the GD Home Top section, the way it is normally done. Delete one of the maps to make it work again. The map shortcode in the header does not display the listings.
Our sample pages use a GeoDirectory Framework child theme. Because you use a different theme, the theme template would need a re-design to achieve the full width map on Listings and Location pages.Because your pages setup, your location swithcher does not work, for example, it takes you to /partner/directory/oesterreich/ which does not exist, but /directory/oesterreich/ is the correct address. You need to remove the GD pages from under the partner page.
If you want to rename Places in the URL, you do that at GD > Permalinks > Listing url prefixJanuary 27, 2016 at 1:22 pm #112314Guust,
what you did is exactly that what I not want…this map is not full width!
Dont worry about the listings, they are working fine. Dont know why you think they dont.
Actually there are only 1 and 2 in the 2nd post type.About the pages setup – are you telling me that all GD pages must be located at the root?
What I wanted was:root: Partner
Listing: Partner/post type 1
Listing: Partner/post type 2/category 1and so on.
I am right, that the listing template is not from GD, its a template of KLEO?
Regarding permalinks: I’ve done so. See my info before. But it did never work again. No changes.
I will have a look again after all pages.Last thing about the map:
– I understand that on listing page full width is not available with my template.
– Whos template is it – (Name, GD or KLEO)?Thanks and greetings,
ChrisJanuary 27, 2016 at 1:27 pm #112316Just to make sure – dont know if you see the same as me…
Check the screens attached. Widget you set is 100% – correct. But it doesnt show 100% from the page. Its 100% from the content space. Understand?Cheers, Chris
January 27, 2016 at 7:41 pm #112572Hi,
listing pages are archives created via php templates, just like category pages in any wordpress blog.
They are not a regular page that you can edit from the back end.
What you want to follow is this doc: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-geodirectory-templates/
You need to customize geodir-listing.php (make sure to move the template within your child theme as explained in the doc) and add the shortcode (use “echo do_shortcode” function) before the wrapper open action.
Thanks
