Hello,
We have just released v1.6.0 and many new versions of addons.
As always please UPDATE CORE FIRST THEN ALL ADDONS.Change log can be found here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/change-logs/#v1.6.0
Thank you!
April 21, 2016 at 7:40 am #167587Hi Paolo,
I have an unresponsive website (empty white screen) this morning, and think it might be related to this update (I can’t even get the backend login screen).
While working last night on my site I noticed that I needed 12 updates – so I did them in one batch. I carried on working on the site fine for a while, then logged out. This morning I went to my site and got the white screen.
So I am wondering if the problem is something to do with having done the upgrades in one batch. Previously I have only been able to update Core plugin first, because the addons aren’t visible as upgrades until core is updated. Only now, coming to the GD forum, do I see that core might have been included in the batch of updates, with the warning to do Core first!
Could all upgrades being done in one batch be the cause of the white screen?
I will investigate other avenues in the meantime, including reinstalling a backup, but wondered if this was related to updates and if so what a fix might be.
Thanks,
April 21, 2016 at 12:09 pm #167863It’s a Jetpack upgrade overnight – in case anyone else affected:

April 29, 2016 at 2:58 pm #181895Hi,
We’ve recently upgraded to 1.6.0, and I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence, but the near me button no longer appears to work on Android (5.1.1) or Windows phone 8.1.
We’ve tried it on 3 separate Android handsets, in 3 locations. It does seem to work on PCs, and on iPhone, and it used to work on Android, so I can appreciate it’s working fundamentally, but concerned about Android particularly. Any ideas?
The site is http://www.dinnerdata.co.uk. We are running WordPress 4.4.2, and have the following plugins installed:
Geodirectory v1.6.0
Geodirectory Location Manager v1.4.5
GeoDirectory Marker Cluster v1.2.5
GeoDirectory Payment Manager v1.3.9
GT-Vouchers – GeoDirectory v1.5.6.7
WP Clone by WP Academy v2.2.2Thanks in advance

April 29, 2016 at 4:28 pm #181979Hi,
current version of the Location Manager is 1.4.6.
Please make sure all add-ons are u to date and check if the problem persists.
Let us know,
Thanks
April 29, 2016 at 6:05 pm #182048Hi Paolo,
Thanks – as my licence won’t take in the back end – am I OK to uninstall the current version I have and then install the new version without losing all my locations?
After that I’ll test the near me function again.
Thanks
Malc
April 29, 2016 at 6:15 pm #182053Hi Malc,
are you adding the license key found here in your backend? https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/members/malc64/downloads/
There is no reason why it shouldn’t take it…
If that doesn’t work and you don’t want us to check why, rather than deleting the add-on and reinstalling it, I would download the update and use this plugin to force the upgrade: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades/
If you want us to check, please provide a link and admin credentials in a private reply and we will see what’s happening.
Let us know,
Thanks

Further to the details about the near me function, a bit of further investigation it would seem the latest release of chrome for Android, v50, has done something to upset the permissions side of things.
I rolled Chrome back to factory version (v43) and I can use near me, on another phone using v49, still ok. Mine is on v50 and says “Permission denied in finding your location”
I don’t know whether this relates to the need to update to 1.4.6 as the alert looks like it comes from geodir_location_hooks_actions.php?
Hope this helps

April 30, 2016 at 5:05 pm #182781Hi,
you should really update the add-ons no matter what. You shouldn’t be using an outdated add-on with the latest version of the core plugin.
If they are not willing to change OpenSSL to a recent version, you should really consider moving to a better hosting provider. On that server you won’t be able to collect payments through paypal or stripe because of that.
I asked to Stiofan to look into your other problems.
Thanks
April 30, 2016 at 6:36 pm #182827Latest chrome for everything requires https now for user location: https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2016/04/geolocation-on-secure-contexts-only?hl=en
Thanks,
Stiofan
April 30, 2016 at 6:38 pm #182828Ok since last update Chrome require HTTPS for GeoLocation:
https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2016/04/geolocation-on-secure-contexts-only?hl=en
This is true for both Android and Desktop browsers.
They are pushing everyone to use SSL for their website.
There is nothing we can really do about it. Time to get a SSL certificate.
Thanks
