I get the following error message when trying to upload CSV
“item(s) could not be added due to blank/invalid address(city, region, country, latitude, longitude).”

    – I am using open office to open, update and save the file
    – I save the CSV with coma and UTF as outlined in your docs
    – I have inserted google api key (not sure if and how google map can be enabled)
    – I have special characters in the post address columnn such as , and / and .
    – default location in the plugin settings is set to: vienna, vienna, austria
    – I added the region and country in german language (i.e Wien instead of Vienna)
    – locations are all within austria (vienna only locations also dont work)

What am i doing wrong here pls?

    Hi,

if the default location is Vienna, you will be able to add listings only for Vienna.

If you provide a link and admin credentials in a private reply and attach a copy of the CSV file that you are trying to import, we will check what’s wrong and let you know.

    Thanks,

Thank you so much for your help!

I see the issue is that it only works if the address is entered in English. (i.e. Vienna, Vienna, Austria). But now the english address is displayed on the detail page.

How can I upload address in German (i.e Wien, Wien, Österreich)?

    2. Issue:
Although I successfully uploaded listings (containing an English city name) with Austrian post code “1010” a search with the search widget returns NO results.
While a cityname search works in both languages (Vienna or Wien) though but post code search does not.
User should be able to enter postcode or cityname in 1 single input field of the search widget.

PS: Bought the advanced search add-on today. If I can make the above work then I will also buy the multilocation add-on.

Did you set your map to German? the default map language is English.

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translating-countries-and-map-directions/

Once you do that, the City and Region will be returned in German automatically.

For the country you will have to translate the name via PO file: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translate-core/

If you install the Location manager too, you have the instructions to translate countries in the 1st link.

Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks

Just an extra tip: if you enter 1010 as the postcode, the system might make the assumption you are looking for 1010 in Belgium or Australia or whatever, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-design/#how

Have a look at GD > General > Search tab > Add location specific text to (Near) search for Google.
If you add Österreich there, then the system will ass that to 1010 and then should find it.

Also be aware that the results will be not IN 1010, but within your set radius from the center of 1010.

If you use the Multilocations addon, and restrict listings to Österreich, then the search will know you always want to search within the country only.
