Hi,

It seems like I can’t import more then one line in the post_content column when using a .csv file. Is there a way to solve this?

It does not work either if I use the example .csv file with multiple lines.

    Thanks.

Hi Matthijs, just put everything on the one line. It will wrap once displayed on your site. You can use html, so just add a
where you want a line break.

    Hi Guust,

It seems to work when adding
but the strange thing is that I didn’t have to do this before.. Is there a way to fix this? Otherwise I will have to add +500 times a
….

    Hi,

can you please provide an example of an imported listing were the description was automatically formatted?

As far as I can see GD never created any formatting on CSV upload, so I’d be surprised to see one…

    Let me know,

    Thanks

    Hi,

    this what the developers says:

Description in formatting is supported with CSV upload.
It is also working with sample csv file “place_listing.csv” and also tested with some other big size csv files.

Attached CSV file “Zoekhulp-DE-database-WPGeodirectory-Orthopedie-database-september-2014-1.csv” has not valid csv format.

It works fine when file opened and saved.

I just read back your message and saw ” google spreadsheet”.

You can’t use google spreadsheet for CSV files. Just like you shouldn’t use Excel.

Only software like openoffice and libreoffice will work and keep correct CSV format.

    Thanks

I’ve imported over 5,000 listings at different times using Google Docs to export the CSV and have never had a single problem. I wonder why that is…

I’ve always used Google Docs too and I never had any problem importing a .csv
It worked perfectly. I think I will just use another program for it from now on, but if the programmers find what caused the error I’ll be happy to hear it.

The programmer confirms that only open office and libreoffice should be used to elaborate CSV files.

(This information is available here : http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/core-general/#csv since the very beginning)

With any other softwares we can’t guarantee it will work.

    Thanks
