Hi again guys,
This time it appears that Divi is again at fault; it’s not displaying the SEO data that I added for The United States:
https://www.kjvchurches.com/churches/united-states/
Or Mexico, Missouri:
https://www.kjvchurches.com/churches/united-states/missouri/mexico/
All I’m getting is a “Place post type” message at the top of the page under the H1. Is this an incompatibility with Divi, or am I missing a setting somewhere? I don’t think the Divi SEO settings are of any use.
Thanks!

I’ve just checked your Website and those pages are actually listing pages and you can configure the titles in GD > Titles & Meta > LISTING PAGE META SETTINGS . I see that you’re trying to insert a title using the SEO plugin, but if you click on the “edit SEO” on the pages you’ve shared above, it is actually linking to a listing and you’re editing the listing page title instead. Let me know if I’m misunderstanding your question.
Thanks!
January 20, 2017 at 1:55 pm #346223Ok, thanks for explaining that.
Then let me ask this: where on the front end do the Country/Region/City SEO settings in GD -> MultiLocations -> SEO appear?
And, what settings have the most SEO utility? I have one main competitor that has landing pages for each US State, and I think with a few tweaks I can take the first result in search, but I need to know which settings to change.
Thanks.
January 20, 2017 at 5:46 pm #346388In the /location/ pages for the relative country, region or city.
Thanks
January 20, 2017 at 5:53 pm #346389Ok, so maybe my thought process is vastly different from that of the developers, but when I go to this URL, for instance:
https://www.kjvchurches.com/location/united-states/missouri/mexico/
I would expect to see a list of churches in Mexico, Missouri, United States. Instead, only the map displays there, but the same widgets as the Home page, so right now it’s filled with listings from North Carolina.
And the SEO info I added still isn’t showing up. It could be Divi or the All in One SEO plugin, but either way, it doesn’t work the way it seems that it should.
Am I missing something here, or am I just wrong in the way I’m thinking?
January 20, 2017 at 6:15 pm #346393Please read the documentation: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/layout/
GD has the home page and location page that are basically the same thing.
This yoursite.com/location/united-states/missouri/mexico/ is the home page of that location.
Archives are a different thing and start with yoursite.com/places/ by default.
Thanks
January 20, 2017 at 6:20 pm #346395Ok, that’s great, but where/how do I optimize the archive pages for SEO? There are SEO settings built into GD: where are they supposed to show up?
I added text and an image for United States, for instance. Where is that supposed to appear?
January 20, 2017 at 6:39 pm #346430The archive’s SEO is controlled via: GD > Titles & Meta > LISTING PAGE META SETTINGS
If you added content in MultiLocation >> SEO Settings
Meta title and description will be used automatically in:
yoursite.com/location/united-states
The description field will appear on that page if you add the Location description widget anywhere on it.
The image/tagline currently are only used by Supreme, but can be used in custom themes.
Thanks
January 20, 2017 at 6:40 pm #346436Thank you for the clarification. Using the widget was the detail that I was missing.
January 20, 2017 at 6:44 pm #346438You are welcome 🙂
January 23, 2017 at 10:06 pm #348154I’m still not able to change the page Title. I added titles for every State:
KJV Baptist Churches in Alaska | KJV Churches
But they’re not showing up. I’ve tweaked the All-in-one SEO settings (Yoast’s sitemap feature was crashing my site so I switched) and Divi’s settings, but nothing is working. It’s showing:
Churches | KJV Churches
I’ve tweaked and tested every setting I can think of, but to no avail.
January 24, 2017 at 5:12 pm #348673hi,
You don’t have the location switcher, so your users cannot get to the location page for Alaska.
Or am I missing something?
If I am, please provide a link to the page you are referring to.
Thanks
January 24, 2017 at 6:11 pm #348688I want to use the /location/ pages as SEO-optimized landing pages.
For most of my site’s visitors, they are not searching for a place near their current location. That’s why I have the location switcher turned off; it’s not very useful for the way my site’s visitors will be searching.
January 24, 2017 at 9:26 pm #348730Try to disable all in one SEO (which is not 100% compatible), it could be overwriting the optimized title from GD.
Let us know,
Thanks
