I am looking at developing a website similar to Yelp- a super review website.
I have currently installed GD as my preferred theme to work with (tellit.com/pass). I discovered that I need to buy Add-on(s), to have a full fledged website.
1. Can you advise me on the specific “add-on” that I need to replicate a website like Yelp to make mine succesful?
2. Is it also possible for me to purchase individual add-on, for example Advanced search, Social Importer, Multi ratings and Reviews and Custom Post type only and still get maximum support and get regular update without having membership status?
I will appreciate your fast response.
Thanks.
April 24, 2017 at 8:58 pm #375129In this tutorial you’ll have the list of add-ons needed to build something as close as possible to yelp: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/whoop-theme-overview/
Our theme also mimics its design.
Yes you can purcahse only the add-ons that you need, however most cost $39/year each so if you need more than 5, a membership is more convenient.
We don’t have licenses granting lifetime updatees and support if that is what you wanted to ask.
Thank you,
April 25, 2017 at 12:52 pm #375259Thank You, I made up my mind to go for 4 months single membership to check if it is satisfactory.
When I checked the WHOOP theme screenshot, I didn’t find something I am looking for.
May I ask about the whoop theme, can i add a home banner like the ‘yelp.com’ home page.
Possibly a sliding banner, where we can have the searchbox on banner and a selected list of categories displayed? Does the theme has such feature? Thanks.
April 25, 2017 at 6:32 pm #375347Hi,
our developers are already working on providing a similar home page template for the next release of the Whoop theme.
Thanks
April 25, 2017 at 7:00 pm #375353Hello, I am making efforts to install the plug in- whoop theme and the child’s theme and I constantly get this error:
“The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.
Plugin install failed”.Why is that?
April 25, 2017 at 8:15 pm #375365Themes are themes and plugins are plugins.
There is no Whoop plugin, Whoop is a theme.
Are you maybe trying to install a theme as a plugin?
Let us know,
Thanks
April 25, 2017 at 8:56 pm #375376Oh that was my mistake.
May I ask, do you have for the directory- supreme directory, a feature that enable send of SMS as a part of share of a directory/address? I see facebook, twitter etc, So i was thinking that SMS/Mobile wont be any bad idea.
Tell me…
April 25, 2017 at 8:58 pm #375378None of our products has a similar feature. I’m sorry.
April 26, 2017 at 7:38 am #375442Thanks Paolo, I think you should be thinking of embedding such functionality-SMS.
Anyways, i wanted to know if other general wordpress plugin can work with your themes.
If not may I know why please?April 26, 2017 at 8:00 am #375444Hi Murphy,
We are in directory business. SMS functionality is way out of our league. It requires different set of features, API and Money from your pocket ($x for n number of SMS).
Every client has a different requirement. In your case you need SMS.
You can hire someone and integrate SMS features.
Start here.
https://www.twilio.com/sms/
https://www.twilio.com/sms/pricingAs for the 3rd party plugin support, 99% of the third party plugin should work fine with GD and our themes.
There may be incompatibility if you are using another directory plugin or some cache plugins etc.
April 26, 2017 at 8:26 am #375447Hello
You didn’t seem to understand my request as pa the SMS functionality. What i am talking about is SMS function embedded in the directory.
See the attached 2 file images for references- they are directory websites with SMS functionality, I marked them in yellow borders.
I really desire same, let me know if its doable.
Thanks.
April 26, 2017 at 12:46 pm #375481You didn’t seem to understand my request as pa the SMS functionality
Yes I do.
When you click “Send SMS” link most likely your users need to enter their mobile number. Then you send the listing link as SMS.
But your site need to use an SMS API to send the sms. That is what I explained in my previous reply.
April 26, 2017 at 1:26 pm #375488Thank You for your reply.
But GD has to have such feature then SMS API will make the delivery.
Yes, I know about the SMS API and I am willing to get that.
What I need to know is that, does GD has such feature of SMS, if they do, then I think all I need to subscribe for is the SMS API to do the delivery of SMS.Do you understand or I’m I not understanding something. All i need to know is how to get that send listing via SMS link/button on my website.
Kindly advice.
April 26, 2017 at 2:02 pm #375515Hi,
there is no such feature and to be honest with you, this is the first time someone asked for that.
Please submit a feature request here and if many other will vote for it, we’ll definitely consider it.
Thanks
April 26, 2017 at 2:09 pm #375519Thank You. I will certainly submit it and hope that it’s voted for and implemented.
Regards.
