    Hi there,

I have tried changing all instances of ‘Events’ and ‘Places’ in the language file, but it not working.

Latest Places widget title needs to change, places in the breadcrumb needs to change, places in the dropdown filter needs to change etc, same with Events.

    Please advise.

    Hi Kor,

None of the above seems to be working?

    Please advise.

    Kind Regards,
    Eugene

The simplest way to achieve that is by using the Custom Post Types plugin, as explained in Kor’s earlier link: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/can-i-change-place-title-and-place-description/

To translate language strings like Events, you need to translate the Events addon, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translating-addons/

To change a widget title, you can go to Appearance > Widgets and change the title of the widget there.

    Thanks

Hi. I must be doing something wrong as I changed the wp-content/languages/plugins/geodirevents-en_US.mo file but it is still showing as events. Please have a look at this page:

http://dev.web-guru.co.za/bandbay/events/ (events should be gig-guide). Then look at the search block, can you show me how to change events to gig-guide.

If you can do this one for me, I should be able to do the rest then.

I did the widget title, thanks.

    Thanks

Without the PO files at /wp-content/plugins we cannot update the MO files.
So I added the Custom Post Type addon as suggested earlier to change “Events”: http://dev.web-guru.co.za/bandbay/gig-guide/

Please add your licenses and make sure you are using the latest GD plugins if you want everything to work correctly.
