Hi,
I’m very interested in getting the Social Importer and Claim Listings add-ons, but first a couple of quick questions:
Obviously I’ll be concentrating on adding new Facebook listings, but first a question about ‘Yelp’:
I’ve just set up a Yelp account and gone into the developers bit which now seems to be called Yelp Fusion. The problem I’m having here is that there is no place to generate a Token or Token Secret – just a Client ID and Client Secret. Is the Social Importer add-on still a viable option for using Yelp listings?
Next, Facebook:
I’m planning on using this probably with the ‘Claim Listings’ add-on so that a business user can claim and revamp things all in one go. So – how does the Claim Listings’ add-on work specifically with a Geo-Directory website?
I see it as when someone claims a listing, then all authorship rights to the new listing, including the email, moves over to the new user. Is this right?
Some of these questions might seem a bit elementary to some, but this is the first time I will have used anything like this, so bear with me!
Finally, in the Claim Listing documentation, there is a ‘User Links’ list (see attachment)
Does this only appear after the Claim Listing add-on is activated, and if so, where?
Oh and also, before I go, do users that have already ‘claimed’ their listing by posting their own listings with their own emails and content etc need to claim again, or is there a way around this?
Thanks,
Ramon

Social Importer can only be used to CREATE listings, not update them.
So if you as admin create a listing, it can be claimed and updated by a new user, but they cannot update it using Social Importer.I see it as when someone claims a listing, then all authorship rights to the new listing, including the email, moves over to the new user. Is this right?

The “Business Owner?” link opens a form for a business owner to claim the listing. Once approved, that link disappears for that listing, and can be replaced with an “Owner verified” badge.Oh and also, before I go, do users that have already ‘claimed’ their listing by posting their own listings with their own emails and content etc need to claim again, or is there a way around this?
They can be set to be claimed by exporting them, and switch from non-claimed to claimed, or by just editing that option in the sidebar of the listing in the backend.I’ll review the Yelp info top make sure it is still correct, and let you know.
Thanks

So if you as admin create a listing, it can be claimed and updated by a new user, but they cannot update it using Social Importer.Yes, there’ll be no problems on that one – I just wanted to use Social Importer to ‘migrate’ listings from Facebook so that they can be Claimed. What a user does with it after it’s been claimed is their own business. BUT do you mean that a Claimed listing MUST be altered after it’s claimed? Or could any of the original Facebook listing still be present?

Thanks

A user can just claim and not make any changes if that is what they want.
Thanks

I’ll grab those two add-ons later today.
I’m particularly impressed with the new Yelp instructions!
