Dear Members,
today we release GeoDirectory version 1.4.6 (change log)
The Biggest addition is the new Import / Export section. It is now possible to Import Listings and Categories, Export Listings and Categories and re-import Listings and Categories to update them.
Another big change is the virtual pages convertion into normal pages. Now you can change these pages and select which page to use from GeoDirectory >> Pemalinks settings. This also addresses a problem that recently came up with WPML.
The new Custom Post Type addon introduces Locationsless CPT. In GeoDirectory >> General you can select which Custom Post Types should be used completely without location features. This is ideal for websites or link directories, but also many other directory types where a location isn’t needed. Listings of a locationless CPT never show up in maps, nor they feature the map tab or address section in the listing detail page.
Obviously we fixed all bugs reported since last releases.
As always we suggest to update the core plugin individually 1st and all addons right after. Let the update process complete and wait until all addons are reactivated before navigating away from the update page.
We hope you enjoy the new updates!

May 19, 2015 at 11:24 pm #39977Awesome work guys!!!
Once my site is up and running, I’m going to write up a big testimonial for you to post.
BTW, I really feel that this kind of content would work better in your blog rather than here in your support forum.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/blog/Any thoughts?
May 20, 2015 at 6:25 am #39989Before the update, if I set the post type to “hotel” and searched, It would return all hotels… now it says “no results”.
even if you put in a “near” location, nothing comes up.
Is this intended?
i assume there will be times where a user doesn’t know the name of a hotel but wants to search for hotels in an area (ie Tokyo). They would change the post to “hotels”, leave the “search for” blank, put in “tokyo” in “near” and search… getting no results!
May 20, 2015 at 9:34 am #40004@helloyoga Thanks for the kind words, we are working on the blog, should be up in the next few days.
@josh Grisdale i will as the dev who made the search changes if there is a reason for this.
Thanks,
Stiofan
May 20, 2015 at 11:48 am #40018@josh Grisdale, we can’t replicate this on our demo: http://wpgeo.directory/ (all latest), please open a new support post if you are still having problems.

May 20, 2015 at 5:36 pm #40100I am getting “update failed” on the plug in updates other than geodirectory and geodirectory advance search filters. I did geodirectory first and that was fine and followed with advance search filters which worked, but the rest have failed and I am not sure what the problem is. Suggestions?
ThanksMay 21, 2015 at 12:15 pm #40167This reply has been marked as private.May 21, 2015 at 2:45 pm #40191This Import and export could be the most exciting plugin ever for GeoDirectory!
A HUGE step to cementing WPGEO as the only directory plugin to ever use.
Testing now 🙂

May 21, 2015 at 6:52 pm #40236I would like to move all the listings and categories from one Custom Post Type to another. I successfully exported the CSV file, but I would like to see if there are detailed instructions on how to import them back in to a different Custom Post Type?
May 21, 2015 at 7:55 pm #40249THis is great news. I updated already. Testing out the import export as I needed this from the beginning…
Keep up the good work team..
I am looking forward to the mobile app…
May 21, 2015 at 8:01 pm #40250Hi Kpewitt,
that’s super easy:
1) create the new Custom Post Type and its categories
2) Export the listings from the old CPT
3) change the post_type and post_category from the exported file
4) Import in option: Update listing if post with post_id already exists.
It will move all the listings from the gd_place table into the new cpt table changing the categories.
Let us know how you went.
Thanks
May 21, 2015 at 8:19 pm #40254I’ve tested on 3 different servers now and all updates went through as expected.
Please open a new topic where you can provide a url and wp admin credentials so that we can have a look.
Thanks
May 28, 2015 at 8:27 pm #40937Hi Paolo,
Can the changes to the post_type and post_category be made in Excel? I thought I read somewhere Excel caused a problem with the encoding. Is there another CSV editor you recommend?
May 28, 2015 at 8:58 pm #40941I recommend openoffice or libreoffice.
Both are excellent.
Thanks
